Please don't insert incorrect speculation on this. Microsoft has been the only responsible party in this. They are the ones refunding us and in my personal experiences, the ones who have contacted support on each of my tickets where ZOS refused to award me crowns

Respectfully it reads as incorrect speculation.
Take a look in the Xbox technical forums for your answer. Pages and pages of this exact issue for many from release till today as this was never rectified but actually we were lied to by ZOS and given a chunk of crowns last year
If you read it as speculation, okay. *shrug* It was more a case of me trying to apply a bit of science to it, where the best way to prove a hypothesis is to try to disprove it. I guess I can see how it came across as speculating for the opposite... silly internet, wiping out most indications of tone and intent. XD

✭I was the person who was given the 18k crowns. I'll explain why...
I filed a civil lawsuit against ZoS seven months ago for...you guessed it...murder. A group of ZoS forum moderators broke into my home, ransacked the place (looking for drugs, I assume), took all my drugs, reformatted my hard drive, ate nearly all of my blue corn chips, and then brutally killed my one house plant.
Clearly they did not want the news to spread, so they proposed that we settle out of court for 18,500 crowns. They never gave back my drugs.
I hope that clears up any confusion.

Lol I Don't really care how I got them. Almost sure they gave me more than I missed out on as well. But not totally as I never keep up with when or if I get them.
Getting free crowns, or unexpected crowns is a good thing regardless if we know about it before we receive them.

Ok if that's the case then where are my crowns cause I have went without them for months at a time and missed out on some limited addition items that I wanted! So if you gave them out for people that have been missing their crowns then I should have gotten some too!0 -

Apparently you haven't read a few posts in these threads. As mentioned by other players I haven't recieved my crowns for probably 6 months now. Every month I send in a ticket, I get my 1500 +500 for comp. I never would assume they would give me 12k extra for no reason other than their eso plus not working correctly.
Either way I'm a content camper, currently...

I can confirm what @NewBlacksmurf said. MS do act on it and do refund when asked. I quit the game for a year because of the shoddy service I received from ZoS or more to the point, the lack of service. MS refunded me as soon as I called them up over the issue and even refunded me my first month's sub which I did receive crowns from.
The only thing MS are liable for is the content placed on their marketplace insofar as if the product isn't as described or doesn't work in a reasonable and acceptable manner, then they're obliged by law here in the UK to refund the customer or offer a replacement. MS can't control what Zos does at their side and the onus is on ZoS to make sure the product they're offering some of their customers contains everything it's advertised to contain. MS also have no way to check if we receive those crowns because those crowns are put into our account by ZoS. I'm surprised MS haven't pulled this product from their marketplace and can only assume not enough people have complained about it. Whose side are you on, anyways!? Sure, that plant was on it's last leg, but you can't make such wild speculations just because you saw a shaky bodycam video, which btw only proves one thing: there was a struggle.

Oh really so to consistently have to submit tickets to get crowns after payments and not have a clue if crowns where received during 4 months of not playing ESO but paying for Plus, then to have a buddy who never plays and quit paying for ESO plus in Jun of 2016 receive 8k crowns seems very nice.
