Guess I should have put the /sarcasm part in there. I highly doubt anyone has been given 18k crowns, for any reason. We will wait and see though, or this thread will just fall down a few pages.

No way they are handing out that many crowns for no reason. EVEN IF they decided to give out crowns to make up for something, it would never come close to 18k crowns.

That would be a one year sub. They only have 6 month plans and you can't buy 2 of them.

Someone in one of my guilds got ~9k Crowns, Xbox NA. He doesn't seem to know why, although I don't think he is investigating it, either.

He seems to be the only one. (I have not logged in yet today but I highly doubt I could be so lucky).

When was the drawing for those free trips? Could it be part of that?

Too early for the Trip of a Lifetime drawing... and the second prize is a 1000 crowns to 1000 people.

Could be their annual membership renewal. When your membership renews, you get all of your crowns at once. I'm on the 6 month plan, so I get 9000 crowns when I renew. An annual membership would get 18K when it renews.

Lot of hate on here.

I got 10k crowns today and I don't have a one year sub or a 6 month sub. There is no explanation why or letter or anything just a bunch of crowns.

That said I have had an ESO plus account since the swap over to buy to play, yet I haven't received my monthly crowns for somewhere around 9 months. I put in a ticket at one point and was only given crowns for the month that I had just paid for.

My guess is its something related to the glitch that was failing to award people their crowns, and that something in the maintenance fixed it and it gave some players all the crowns out just now.

No because they state they can/will only go back 3 months worth.

That could be the reason, but it seems like people would have not let something sit like that for a year or 6 months. I have seen threads where folks say I did not get my crowns like I should have, but I have not seen threads where people say, it's been 6 months or a year, where are my crowns?

That would make sense if it was a pure refund. If however it happened by accident based on the maintenance fixing the error that was causing crowns not to be received in the first place its a whole different issue.

Here is the quote from my monthly crown request from subbing

"If you are missing Crowns for more than one month's worth of ESO Plus, simply reply to this message let us know! Please be aware that we are only able to restore up to 3 months worth of missing Crowns."

How awsome would it be if a disgruntled employee was planning on quitting and just randomly handing out crowns.

Xbox only has month-to-month subs (which stinks because we don't get a discount) so it's not for a six-month resub.

I didn't need the crowns but still wanted my bag as well as to maintain my subscription. I got my Tiger because I had been subscribed since beta and I have maintained my subscription even after swapping to buy to play and ESO+. Crafting bags make it completely worth it to me now. At this point myself and others have found you have to continually submit tickets to receive your crowns and honestly I just don't feel like submitting tickets.

I've just logged in and a lot of people in game are claiming they've had crowns too on Xbox EU, some even showed screenshots of the crowns but I guess you can't tell if they had them anyway

I've love some free crowns after the freakin' 80+ crates to get my mount... XD But I'll get more when I get paid. I'm not greedy. Well, I am, but not THAT greedy.
