Requesting to have characters deleted via support

I am new to the game. I've been making characters and deleting them to try and figure out what I want to play using various race and class combinations. I have 8 slots full and am not able to delete characters at this time because of the timer so therefore I am not able to create any characters..

I have sent a ticket into support asking for them to delete 4 of my characters and I gave them specific names. That was 3 days ago and I keep getting the following response :

Greetings again,
We apologize that we still have not been able to assist you with your issue and appreciate your continued patience.
If you have not been able to find a resolution to your issue, please respond back to this email so we can continue to assist you.
Thank you again for your time and patience.
Warm Regards,
The Elder Scrolls Online Team

I've gotten the above exact same response now 3 times in a row with no explanation or help. Are they not able to help? Are they actually reading my ticket? Do they not comprehend what it is that I am asking them to do? I am not sure what the problem is but it is getting frustrating.

My ticket information is as follows:

    1. You have to reply to the automated support emails over and over to get a human, it sucks we know. However...
    2. The delete limit is there for a reason and you are unlikely to get help from CS. Play any of your current eight builds for one day and you'll have another delete available on your account.

To add to what wayfarerx said, instead of creating and deleting so many characters, you may find it more beneficial to do some theory-crafting before you roll up the next one. Race choice does not make a huge difference unless you're extremely competitive in pvp, since races only come with four passives each. (And if that does matter, take a look on the wiki at what each race does instead of figuring it out the hard way: http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Racial+Skills )

Also, if you're creating and deleting characters so fast that you're running into problems with the delete time... how long have you been playing each character? Because you really don't know whether a build will work until after level 20 or so, when the mid-tier skills start unlocking on both weapon sets, and I find it hard to believe you would have played so many characters up that far in so short a time.

So while this game is about customizability and playing it the way you want... maybe go actually play it for a little while before you decide what you think the "perfect" build for you is. Because chances are, until you know the game? You'll be wrong anyway. ;)

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Thank you for the information and the advise you two.

I'm not so much trying to do any builds or whatever right now. I don't even know what that is to be honest. My highest level character is only level 8. I am trying to find the perfect combination for my characters as far as race, class and names go. I have two (maybe three) characters that I am set on keeping right now and have been playing them while waiting to delete the other 5/6.

For example, I made a Breton nightblade but want to delete him and make a dark elf nightblade instead. On another character I created I accidentally forgot to change his height during creation and it was set at the shortest setting. I want to delete him and recreate him to adjust his height. Those are just two examples.

It's just my own personal preferences and little tweaks that I have been playing around with over the last week or so. I do this in every MMO that I play until I get the "right" feel for my characters and this is the first time I've had an issue with deleting characters in a game.

Just curious, why is there a timer to delete characters as hinted at above in the first response?

This is to prevent Gold sellers from using a create/farm/delete cycle, in which they create a character, run it on a specific high-return farming route, bank the profits, delete the character, and repeat.

Thanks for the response. That makes sense to me. Gold sellers/spammers were/are very bad over in Age of Conan and SWTOR. That can be very annoying. I never saw much of them over in EverQuest I & II though, where I played for 11+ years. Thinking back to that I wonder how they managed to keep them at bay?

Not sure if this is viable as i've never tried it before, but you may find it useful to create template characters on the PTS then recreate them on the live server?
