Yeah.... You go and do that... Then you will end up broke like many professional athletes. Just because you make $15M a year doesn't mean you can support four multi million properties, and buy six Lamborghini's.
Even if you not living in the house you still gotta pay the utility bills and real estate taxes!
Will there be any on going cost ( weekly fees ) that you will have to pay? I hope not.

250k is something end game players can make in a couple of hours. That's nothing. Manors should be around 1 Million gold.
Thats likely what we're looking at. About 20-60k for Small Houses, 100-500k for Medium Houses and 1-3 million for Manors.
I expect the Crown Store to be a little more lenient on housing costs. Probably 1000 -1500 for Small, 2000-3000 for Medium and 4000-11000 for Manors

We know there is going to be one island manor that will be purchasable via crowns only, as per the two interviews on MMORPG and Massively today. It is the same item and player cap as a regular manor available via in-game gold.
Let's say it is the cost of one 5500 pack of crowns. ( I hope not!)
If we base the in-game value of a single crown on the cost of a crown soul gem (10 for 400 crowns), 40 crowns (one crown soul gem) is equal to 500 gold, the cost of a filled grand gem from a Mystic.
If my mathing is correct (hey probably not, numbers are dumb) thennnnnn
40 goes into 5500 137.5 times...
137.5 x 500 gold = 68,750 gold.
I'd guess we'd see some gold mark up on that, for gold sink reasons. 100k gold for a manor sized house, maybe?
Granted, this is assuming there is a set value for determining item cost in the crown store.
2500 crowns for a premium crown store mount, using this conversion above puts us at about 31000 gold. The highest gold cost mount is 40k? So maybe this isn't far off? /shrug
That seems way too low. Anyone and everyone would just pay the in-game gold for the biggest house. It looks like a lot of time and effort went into housing, which will be a free DLC. In-game gold does not pay the salaries of developers and designers. Crowns do. So while I would expect the smaller houses to be reasonably priced in gold, I think the big houses will cost a lot of gold. Not impossible amounts, but high enough that very few players will be able to acquire (or want to part with) that much gold. Which will drive players to spend crowns on the fanciest houses and thus pay for the development costs.

Housing caters to PVE casuals as much as anyone, many of whom have never seen 1 million gold and never will. I would think that ZOS would make it more reasonable for players like this to buy houses, even the big ones, seeing as most things they do attempt to cater to the whole "play as you want" kinda thing.

@SantieClaws would only be doing security guard like work I think? Think of it as insurance. She comes to check your belongings are fine, and the house is secure, and then leaves, each week, all is finerotaugen454 wrote: »Don't forget the weekly visit from the Khajiit 'Protection Outfit' demanding gold.

At this point, I think it is all speculation. Sounds like you will get an apartment for doing the quest, and then you will be able to purchase bigger homes with gold. My guess is that the biggest houses will cost several million, but that is just a guess.
Seeing that at any given point in time I have only had around 300K-400K I'm not sure I will ever really indulge in housing lol. I guess I have to finally join a trade guild or farm stuff for sale.

If they want to make it a grind, I'd expect the houses to be a high price.
I wouldn't be surprised for a big house to cost $1 mill each.
