Why do people frequently post up their DPS results on each boss fight?

If you're talking about what I think you are, it could be that might be more for the player's guild than the player. I used to use that when I was in a trial-running guild. They required all DPS to have it so the guild leaders could see how much damage was coming from who. Since it is a must to burn bosses real fast on veteran dungeons and trials, DPS need to get their numbers to a specific level. But since luck is as much part of the equation as the numbers the character puts in, they need to collect an average number from a lot of fights to get a good count on their actual DPS. If the number is high enough, you can run with the vet group. If not, back to the grinder.0 -

I am not exactly offended either... just think maybe some people aren't aware that they seem like jerks when they are tooting their own horns. People doing it to get advice are not that annoying, people implying that everybody else should be min max obsessed are though, to me. If the person even did it with a little character it might be more fun for the rest of us ;-). It's an rpg.0 -
