Ring of Mara still work after a name n appearance change?

Title says it all, does the ring of Mara still work wit the same married characters even after a name n appearance change? I ask cuz I wuz looking thru my gear n happened to notice I wuz still married to the same other character but my ring says it wuz created by her characters original name n not the new name lol. Would anything change as far as the 10% xtra experience, weird question I kno so jus wondering...

✭Could you not just go kill an enemy with it equipped - then find the same enemy and kill it with the ring unequipped? Mystery Solved.
It's interesting to see from a google search that nobody else has ever asked this, I'm assuming it must be because so few people actually have these rings - and those who do, don't use them because it involves gimping their jewlery sets.
