How to increase your odds for crown crate rewards

Just kidding. But I made you look so you might as well read on. They're absolute crap. I spent $40 and I figured that was at least worth it to get something cool. I got absolutely nothing. The conversion rate is horrid so 400 crown gems is an Atronach mount, and even though I've spent A LOT of money throughout the years, I only received 58 crown gems back from items I've already purchased so I couldn't really get anything. I've been playing since BETA and this is the first time I've contemplated quitting for good. Greed destroys games and hiding things behind what people want is crap. $40 should guarantee you a mount, or, you should get a lot more for your conversions that 5 gems because you already purchased another item for $20 a year ago. Yes it's a gamble, but fans shouldn't have to spend $300 to get a small piece of digital code. That's crap. Hey, at least I have 100 potions that I could make something extremely close to to the point where it is negligible. Oh, and soul shriven armor costume so I can make my characters look like newbs like I've gone through the whole game hoping they could look like that. Thanks ZOS!

The bean counters are obviously starting to take over. How can we do the least amount of work to make the most amount of money. Adding a grind to the crown store is genius. Parasites.

I've been excited for crown crates for month; so I bought 45k crowns.

Spent 10k on them this morning (30 crates) and got junk the entire way with the best drop being the 'palimno' horse

At that point I decided I wouldn't buy any more and save my crowns for something that's actually worth it.

The storm atro mounts look like *** anyway; I'm fine with my Zombie Horse / Breton Hero costume roleplay.

I've also know people buy 5 crates and get what they want, or 15. The bottom line is its pretty clearly documented on here by the 100 plus rants that drops rates are low. So people are pretty informed really, as you say its just pixels, cosmetics, so I think the easy thing to do is just be strong and not buy them. And for those thst are anti the concept all along, stay true to your morals.

A game needs to be profitable to make it viable long term, I want to be playing this thing in 2/3 years and they need income to keep going with it, so I dont mind. I appreciate others are upset about them, but I think people that are against them just need to be strong, you dont NEED anything that's in the boxes.

Sadly for all those posts saying let's boycott them there's at least two more talking success/failure rates, so bottom line is the crates are going no where, they are being bought thus a success at ZOS end. Which will only perpetuate the business model.

No commercially minded Exec is ever going to say, "ohh these are making good money but people aren't happy on a forum let's stop" the proof is in the pudding.

Do you people have a problem with your brain? Zenimax didn't hide that this deal is crap, we saw ratios on pts and it was obvious that them saying "we increase drop rates" without adding crates on pts again to test new values are ***. Yes there are ppl that will get 4k value mount from one or 4 packs "OMG so much value" but there will be also ppl that get mostly junk for 20k+ crowns. The odds are pretty much same as on pts, you need to spent around 15k crowns on average to get one 4k crown mount (and still it's a random one) + other stuff that you might or might not want (most of this hairs, marks and *** costumes are worth to me as much as crown consumables so nothing). Yes, it's a ripoff on a macro level, "the house always wins". For every 10 person there will be 5 that got ripped off, 3 that will get there value back, and some 2 fellas that will think they are "lucky" then on next 2 season crates they will spend more crowns cuz they have luck, be ripped off and all will be back to normal.

But does it matter for ppl that just want to play the game? Does new dungeon require Storm Mount to enter? No? Then why you even care, when i read "omg i spent 40$ got ***, now i quit" it's so silly, no one force you to do that, the game didn't require you to spent this money or you will lose access to some stuff, you did this cuz you hope you get lucky, you don't, *** happens move on, if you only expect positive outcome from stuff like that, they i advise you to never try gamling again.
