How did you get rich in ESO

Some of you in ESO are like Litle Bill Gates, and some of you (like me) are like "holy crap how did you get a million gold!" So how did you do it? How could we do it?

    Persistence and luck, basically.

I'm not even remotely rich at the moment, but at a time when I was I could make several 100k a day by selling raw materials and motifs.

But it was all because of persistence and luck, and I made almost all the gold from guild stores.

    Protip is this:
    Loot all the things.

Harvest all ores, all wood, all cloth, all alchemy ingredients like flower and water, all runestones, all mobs that drop hides.
Refine said materials and sell tempers/tannins etc, or sell raw materials - usually very profitable.
If you're lucky enough to get a valuable motif, sell that.

Personally I feel that the in-game economy has taken a drastic turn for the worse as of late - but some would disagree with that sentiment.
Materials are worth but a fraction of what they used to be since they made high tier mats drop in every zone, good for players, bad for my purse.
The only things that seem to sell for a lot of gold are motifs and tempering alloys.

Do your writs and pick every flower you find.

Sell gear people want (like impenetrable) and don't waste your time selling garbage you wouldn't want.

Don't try to get every dollar possible. If tempering alloys are all selling for 20k and you notice some are listed for "22 days left" common sense says they aren't selling quickly at that price. List them at 18 or 19k and watch them fly off the shelf.

Search the forums for good traders.

The $15 a month crafting bag helps a ton too.

A guy recently quieted eso, he send me 15millions gold and alot of alchemy mats which I sold for like 2millions. On top of that, my smartness got increased when I saw how ppl sell sometimes. Some ppl just have no clue about prices and I abuse their unknowledge to make myself rich.

    I gamble.

I buy all gold weapons/armour and deconstruct I turn probably 60-75% into temps so it's not bad.

Especially when people were selling the rubbish gold PVP drops for 10-15k a while ago.

My biggest tip to anyone wanting to become eso 'rich' is to not focus on earning gold, but to focus on being able to not spend the gold. Craft your own food/potions, don't buy them. Make your own armour or farm for it and then farm for the improvement materials, don't buy them. Farm your motifs and your holiday event items, don't buy them.

In the last six months I've probably spent under 20,000 gold from traders/merchants. The only expenditure I have is the odd teleport or repairing my armour.

I'm a Scrooge, but I have more gold than I could want!

A lot of people got rich from exploits. Pig leather farm exploit, crafting writs bug, selling viper/elegant weapons when you could scale down trails for easy loot.

The people who get rich are the ones who are always buying and selling crafting material for low and selling high. The people who also farm for legendary crafting material also make a lot of money.

It takes some learning or dedication to farming.

On console it's easy having a lot of gold because we have no ad ons to help us be smart shoppers. All the gold I have I've made from flipping for the most part. My biggest gold spike was after 1T. Before the update, i bought a crap ton of alloys for 10-12k and resold them all for 25-30k at traders. Why did people pay those ridiculous prices? Pure laziness and lack of ad ons. You will never see me farming for mats other that my surveys

I'm not crazy rich like a few players I've come across, but I have a good chunk of gold and mats saved up. Basically I just slowly built it up over time selling stuff from runs and not having to spend a lot of it because of doing my own farming and stuff.

It's the major trading Guilds. Whenever a player needs to buy something they always flock to one of the major guild trader locations like Rawl'kha, Mournhold, Wayrest, etc cause most of the time we know the traders there have pretty much anything we want for sale, that means whoever is selling through those traders have a very high chance of making a sale.

The catch is actually getting into those guilds.

    Take what you can.
    Give nothing back.
    ;)

Farming, stealing and such will get you started. Especially if you don't use all that crafting stuff yourself, but sell it for profit.

Smart trading can get you far. Being in the right guild helps greatly there, both as in doung frequent dungeon runs to nab valuable loot and in having a vendor in a high customer frequency place.

There is no catch for getting into those guilds. They're always recruiting, and if you deposit your weekly 5k then you're good.

As I have maxed everything in smithing, woodworking and clothing I run around Stros M'kai obtaining all materials, including runes.

Then I refine everything: In a day I can get around 100K-150K by selling Alloys, Resins, Kutas and Dreugh Wax. Furthermore I can make a good 10K-ish more selling the refined materials.

Haven't done this in a long time, however.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.
