If the sword of ultimate smiting goes in a box, then I might consider there to be a problem, but I don't see that this is planned to happen.
They'll get there. It may not be planned to happen yet, but don't forget the original "We have no plans for locked rng boxes." Technically they kept their word. The rng boxes aren't locked.
After all the feedback and comments and complaints and suggestions for how to mitigate the rngesus boxes in the pts thread, the idea that came back in Gina's comment was in effect "Gee. We see you don't like the consumables, so we'll buff them to be better. Maybe tweak the number of gems for duplicates. Maybe allow you to sell back the consumables no one likes or will use for gems. Oh, and to sort of kind of maybe keep the promise to never sell anything in the crown store better than players can make, we'll throw in a recipe that uses two incredibly rare drops to make something similar to the gamble box item that you can use after you get all seven of the original recipe parts that is also an incredibly rare drop."

i take issue with the bit i put in bold.
'all seven of the original recipe parts that is also an incredibly rare drop' rubbish.
i have the original recipe on one toon. i have a complete recipe and twelve fragments in my bank right now. i have sold four complete recipes and just short of forty fragments. rare?
i don't think so.
but hey its the internet so a bit more misinformation is expected.
@jedtb16_ESO oh cool. So since they added even better xp scrolls to crown crates... How many of the new ingredients have you gathered? The cipher and dust.
perhaps you misunderstood the point of my post. i was simply challenging the idea, by example, that the psijic ambrosia fragments were, somehow, super rare.
i made no mention of the new recipe or mats.
but hey whatever... have i found either?
no.
does that concern me?
no.
but why aren't you concerned? surely this is further proof of zos's evil machinations....
well... no.
it was about a fortnight (that's 2 weeks or fourteen days for the uninitiated) before i got my first perfect roe and about three weeks before i got my first recipe fragment.
and the new stuff was released on saturday 12th november.....that's just 5 days ago....

So? According to you, the recipes and ingredients should be falling like rain.
Problem is, not everyone has the luck you do. Some people have managed to find the rare drops, and are pricing them for sale accordingly. Others, well, not so much. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/303851/mythic-aetherial-ambrosia-and-farming
How long before you claim those are easily found? Some people have found them. So that means everyone that hasn't is spreading "misinformation", right? I have one character that has cleared two zones for the fishing achievement. I've gotten 2 perfect roe in all of the hundreds of fish. Your experience was different. Congratulations. Perfect roe is still not considered to be a routine drop. One of my guilds had a fishing tournament. One person filleted over a thousand fish. He ended up with 5 perfect roe. A few dozen bait roe. Another participant went through 800 fish and got none. RNG gremlins being nice once in a while doesn't make an item commonplace.
Now Ta runes? Yeah, those are pretty easy to find.

pathetic.
where did i say 'they should be falling like rain'?
did you even read what i posted?
perfect roe is not as rare as you claim..... i get 1 per 50 to 70 fish. if you search these forums you will find other people telling you similar things.
i'll state it again since you obviously missed it the first time round...
the new recipe and ingredient. no, i haven't found any (though i know of others who have).
does this concern me?
no.
but surely it is more evidence of zos's evil machinations?
no..... it took 14 days before i got a perfect roe and 21 days before i got a psijic ambrosia fragment.
and the new stuff was introduced 6 days ago....... no need to panic.
Rng doesn't play the same with everyone. And I have seen threads about it. So whatever you say. Your experience is what everyone in the game is having, and those people who aren't getting the drops and finding items are all wrong. The people who have come to complain about refining a thousand ore and getting no gold tempers or going through a thousand fish with no roe are simply deluded.
I wonder how many people are promoting PAWS in their sigs now. Seems to be quite a few.
In a way, I sort of wish they'd just get it over with and put them on live so we can see JUST how bad they are. Pull the trigger already, ZOS.

It's like having a burglar put a gun to your head and say "I'm going to shoot you. BUT I WON'T TELL YOU WHEN".
Ok, maybe a bit extreme, but you see where I'm going with this.

My envy level just got well over 9000
