People are becoming so complacent its not funny.
Tell me, if your boss agreed to pay you until 10 am, and then decided to cut payroll at 9:20, you would be OK with this?
I dont care about not getting the two drops / bonus, at least for me its more about the type of company and integrity of the company that i am doing business with.
A company that does not care about its customers or its commitments makes me concerned with their ability to:
- store the account data accurately to prevent rollbacks
- secure customer information, including privacy and financial information.
- maintain accurate billing systems, IE: not being double+ charged.
- provide service overall, including new content releases on time
- to release stable code that will not damage my equipment
I dont understand why anyone is treating ZOS like a long time friend, they are not. They are a company, we are the paying customers, there is no friendship or loyalty. It is also important to remember that while Bethesda has a track record for delivering the Elder Scroll content, this is being provided by Zenimax. Zenimax is a company that most of us never even heard of until the release of ESO.
Every time we as a customer base accepts this type of poor treatment, incentivizes the company to cut more of the corners.

With the way things work on the backend for in-game events like this, we began turning this event off around 9:20am EST and hit each platform/megaserver individually until it was completely off by 10:00am. We'll make sure we're much clearer for future articles and events when something will be ending.
Wouldn't it be better to start turning everything off at the advertised time and allow the event to go a few minutes over than the reverse which causes posts like this to pop up? What's the thinking?
Agreed, it would. There was some miscommunication across different teams, and as mentioned, we'll make sure we're clearer in the future so this doesn't happen again.
