Do we know how much a house is going to cost yet ingame? I want to know if I need to super grind more cash or not ^^

And when will housing come to the PTS? I am super exhited about trying it out. ^^

I've been hoarding gold since the announcement that they will be purchasable. I'm hoping to have 5 million saved by the time it goes live. I can't imagine even the most expensive house will cost more than that, but you never know.

Guessing.....holidays are coming so considering the console patch is pending......
January is now my guess on housing PTS

Prices prob will fluctuate on PTS but there's no way to know until it's announced.

Dear Zenimax,
please hear me,

there are people like my self, whom are not well to do in the Millions of gold as the people above in comment section are.
i am a lowly farmer, a begger, thief and dark brotherhood member in need of a hidden away house with only a trap door for an entrance, that leads to a 1 room underground house.
this trap door below [in picture] is a perfect entrance for me and my wife to live in our 1 room house.

just like this ^
but hiden in the bushes so is a bit more hidden, and not out in the open.
i beg of you zenimax, please make a hidden 1 room underground house possible for people like myself whom do not have millions, but we can spare possibly $100,000 Gold or maybe extreme case $250,000 Gold for this hideaway underground home.
please do this for us.

From what I've heard people speculate the most likely is between one to three million for a big house but I have heard five. Like everyone above I've been saving like mad. I'll definitely have three million saved up but I'd like to have five, just to be on the safe side.
I'd suggest anyone doing the same to try and get the money together before Update 13 as prices of goods are likely to drop dramatically as everyone will be selling off anything of value and the market will be over saturated. However if you have saved more than is required, this will be a great time to buy up cheap mats and goods, for when the market has recovered.

I'm hoping the pricing will be something like this:

Small house: Cheap enough that pretty much every one can buy it, say 10k
Medium house: Most players who play regularly should be able to afford one, say 100k
Large House: expensive gold sink, say 1mill

You do know that a starter home will be available by doing a quest. I have heard that you may own more than one house ( not confirmed though ).

I've saved so much gold, but now I don't know if I will have the heart to blow it all in a big house. I'm a bit stingy.

But we don't know any of that yet. People are speculating it will cost many millions, but we thought the same of the monster sets when the Golden vendor was announced and they turned out to be much cheaper than we expected.

it needs to be in the 5 million range id say to make it exclusive enough, then tiers at 3, 1 and half a million. seeing as housing can be shared- guilds and experienced players won't have trouble getting that money together. I'm still poor but once a player can craft their own things, has a few gold sets- and dosent need 100k to finish vMA which is where I'm at right now- iv found money comes alot easier..
i won't be needing any of that- i l be crashing on a mates couch.

ZOS are not going to price even the big houses out of reach of players if only to avoid the endless moaning.

A million is a lot to most players from those I speak to and while ZOS are going to want people to work for the big house in the country I also expect they are going to want it at a price point that allows people other than active traders to acquire them.

If I had to guess I'd say 50k/250k/750k. Bear in mind they say you can buy multiple houses so those with multiple millions can buy multiple top tier homes.

This will be a gold sink but if they want a big enough gold sink to drain the trade guild GMs then only they would be able to buy!

They'll then expect more gold for furniture and decor where it can't be crafted... and I would be shocked not to see premium items in the crown store... unique furnishings or maybe crafting stations and extra storage...

Remember that you will get the first place for free - could be limited to the small and medium houses and not the castles. What it will cost beyond that no one knows and I think that it will be kept under wraps till close to go live. Some if the purchasable portions could be crowns and not credits. Definitely is well looked forward to so can have a spot to just chill with friends. I do know that there have been links to what what said by the powers that be but not sure where this one hid the link. Will add it when had a chance to hunt it down.

I agree it shouldn't be incredibly expensive in the regions of 3+ Million. Not only to avoid the complains, but also not to encourage gold farming or even worse buying gold from those gold farmers.

But I guess that houses will also be easily available in the crown store.

Other extras will be nice, but more storage is the deal breaker for me.

I agree. If housing does not provide additional storage, I will not bother buying anything larger than a smallest simple hut.

I believe I read first small house is given to you through a quest line after that no idea on what things will cost.

I am looking forward to being able to craft furniture, I hope they add things to the loot pools for housing I am sure they will have some premium things in the crown store.

Im just real interested to see how zos handles housing as a whole. 1 million gold=small shack...5000 crowns=large mansion. What does "craftable furniture" mean? My guess is 1000 ruby ash=milk crate nightstand adding 2 storage spots...1000 crowns=mahogany nightstand adding 20 storage spots.

From what I've seen there's effectively four sizes for each race- small, medium, and large racial houses. But then there are the three huge extra ones in each alliance - the Daggerfall castle, the Sren'ja estate and the Ebonheart castle.

I can imagine prices being something along the lines of 100k, 250k, and 500k, with the large ones being either crown store, or 1mil...

if they put anything and i mean anything for housing crown store purchase only, be it house, housing item anything, that will just be one more reason to leave this game when camelot unchained comes out. i dont think anything should be crown store only. because the more zos makes crown store only, the more those with too much money in thier pockets will spend on it, and the more they spend on it, the more zos will focus on crown store items, and the less on fixing bugs, maintaining game balance, creating new content, and creating quality content. (dont believe me craglorn is a much better quality of content then wrothgar, wrothgar was better content then both thieves and dark brotherhood content combined, and the last dlc was a freakin joke costing as much as any other dlc, and all it gave was 2 group dungeons in a zone people could already go to.

Didn't they say that the Starter Home you get from the quest isn't actually a 'house' though? It's a room in an inn. Or maybe that was just a theory and wasn't confirmed.

The term used my Firor in an interview I saw was 'appartment' gained from doing the quest.

Yep, to me there isn't much point in having a house if it doesn't at least have storage (and preferably display cases). Otherwise it would just be a glorified doll house. And pure vanity items are usually just a waste of gold/crowns, AFAIC.
