For PvE: DKs are the best tanks, right up there with sorcs on DPS. Templars are the best healers, and sorcs are the best DPS.
For PvP: DKs, and Templars own that because they can double dip CP, and Major Vitality + Major Mending.
So where does that leave Nightblades? The best gankers? Even though ganking is easier as a Nightblade, DKs can still be more effective at it, just less forgivable if you fail.

✭✭✭I can't think of a role that a NB cannot fill. Healer, stam tank, magicka sap tank, magicka or stamina DPS. It's not like 2 years ago when NB were utter shite.5 -

✭✭✭✭✭Nightblades are the Loki of SMITE. If you've ever played SMITE you'll hopefully know what I mean. They're a pain to deal with, and excel and solo PVP.
In PVE they're pretty versatile and one of the most well balanced classes imho. They make great tanks, decent DPS (not up there with DKs and stuff, but it's still really good), healers and even DPS with good off healing.
In PVP you will find no better griefer than a Nightblade.1 -

✭✭✭One thing to make note of. NBs are effective when the build is very honed and perfected. NB doesn't seems to have the range in a sense that a Templar does in terms of builds and gear. As a NB you best run the meta at any given time.0 -

SaibotLiu✭✭✭✭NB's are the class that the most skilled/masochistic players use and make look somewhat effective in certain situations. Leading people to say "see they're actually pretty good."
Reality:Dont use a NB if you're not okay being the weakest of the four classes and working far far harder for everything you get than everyone else does.
This is speaking from a PVE perspective mainly, but in PVP as well. Yes you can do well with a NB in PVP, but the other classes have always been far easier to play, so you're still working harder for it.

NB have these passives that boost damage- Pressure points - for each assassination skill slotted you get 2% weapon/spell critical
- Hemorrhage - when you have assassination skill slotted you get 10% more damage dealt with critical strikes, and when you crit you and allies get minor savagery for 20 seconds
DK has combustion passive, that afaik do not work as intended on all types of dots, and world in ruin. All I see that is better with DK is claw.0 -

Maybe AOE cause of hurricane but stam dks have 2 more single target dots(venomous claw and noxious breath, it counts as a single target dot if you only hit one mob and gives major fracture, which a stam sorc does not have access to) that they can use with vMA weapons. This alone gives them a huge advantage. Now stam sorcs have better survaibltiy because of hurricane, crit surge and bound aegis. I am not down playing hurricane but that is really the only damage ability that gives a stam sorc an advantage. Fair enough points, even if it still needs to be commented a bit.
Stam DKs having Venomous Claw does make a difference (along with Standard of Might), which allow them to effectively get the highest single target DPS (by a margin, however small). Noxious breath, however, is either a Rending Slashes replacer (weaker single target, but AoE) or is used unbuffed. Major Fracture matters little when it's already available with Pierce Armor.
When it comes down to passives, stam sorcs have the upper hand thanks to huge ultimate cost reduction (combined with Rend which can be empowered), passive execute on all attacks (Implosion), 5% extra physical damage and some weapon damage (2% / class ability slotted). This effectively makes stam sorcs passively better AoE wise while still being on-par with stam DKs when it comes to single target. Stam DKs rely on Claw & Standard, while stam sorcs rely on passives and Hurricane.
Thing is: 98% of trial fights are AoE fights, which makes stam sorcs the overall better choice in most situations and a better fit for current competitive trial tactics.
