How to search for Group Players in the Activity Finder

I understand how the "Activity Finder" works when i'm looking for a group to play a specific dungeon, but how can i review the master list of players to add them to my group so i don't have to wait in a Queue?? I was in a group yesterday completing a dungeon and we lost one player, and the leader was able to pull other player (Healer) into the game in a minute after looking?? I just figured it would be easier to pull together my own group of people instead of waiting in a queue..

if you have a name you can add players to your group but you can't see who's using the group finder.

When a GF formed group loses a player the leader can queue the group for a replacement via the same window used to enter the GF.

The grouping tool does not provide you a list of players to search and contact, it will automatically find you a person with the role, or you have to know someone and invite them manually... that means having them on your friends list, through zonechat or guilds.

But how does the system determine the Group leader??? I've been using the GF all weekend and it puts me in the queue for 30mins to 1 hr.

How can i become the leader and just queue the system to find me a tank, healer and another DPS player??

My understanding is that the GF is like a party.. if i'm looking for a group activity to participate in, i have to wait in the queue until one is found for me.. But if i'm starting the party (leader), then i can't use the GF finder to find me 3 other players??

I believe the GF randomly selects a group leader when the group is formed.

The way the system works is it will automatically search for 2 dps, a healer, and a tank and group them together. Sometimes it will take a while for dps to find a group through it because there's just so many dps players. However, if you form a group manually from your friends list or guild, you can queue with a preformed group. So say you pulled a healer and a dps from your guild, then queue, it will automatically search for a tank to fill the empty slot. You can also queue with a full preformed group.

when you que using group finder you are always just waiting for 3 other people,
while 1 person will be given a crown which technically makes them the leader it is not really important,

Why does it matter if you're group leader? The activity finder just takes four people who all want to do the same thing (and have the correct roles) and put them in a group. Who is selected as leader is irrelevant.

If you wish to assure that you are the group leader, go and gather a group through zonechat, guildlist or friend list, and que in for a dungeon afterwards - that way you stay leader.

It's important that i'm the group leader because i've found recently that when i'm not, i have more of a chance of that person bailing on the dungeon.. when that happens, the stupid system puts me in a 15 minute rotation! WTF.. then I have to wait for another 15 mins to start again.. and that is ontop of the 30-45 mins for the system to find 3 other people

Sorry to hear that

I can only recomend you to expand your friend and guild network, meet like-minded players who are in the same phase of ESO as you are, and do the dungeons together. Group up manually.
-Use only the grouping tool when you are 4 in group (tank, heal and 2 DD's) and you want to do random dungeons.

This way, if you any of you need to relog to a different char, or something happens - you don't get the 15min cooldown.

I find that if someone else is the leader (especially one with no keyboard, no mic, no know-how of communication, basically a newbie) then I'm stuck in a group with a leader that does not know how to queue (even after attempts through mic and text chat). Then I have to leave and wait for a new group.

That's probably me haha.. seriously how do I do that. I'm on PS4... example..

Joined a random bloke last night and we started tempest is. Vet, couldn't burn stormfist fast enough when he does that annothing shock attack, I had crown but I couldn't see where I could open it up to activity finder. Passed on the crown to old mate and he sorted it for me... heh. Specifically how is that done?
