Can somebody explain to me what bots farmers do?

lol don't try it . One guy got sued for millions by Blizzard and lost everything , even his girlfriend . It's a big risk and game companies will pursue you . The ones over seas get away with it the most because their country doesn't allow recourse .

It seems since one tamreial xbone is overrun with bots and gold farmers.
They are everywhere agro in all the mobs and aoe them.
Forget about trying to ban the farmers it's useless what they have to do is BAN the buyers.
Anybody caught dealing with gold farmers account gets instant ban no IFS ANDS OR BUTS they can appeal but BAN FIRST.
This will kill the market and with no market no farmers & bots
This suggestion will not really work. Here is a question suggestion. How do you tell if a player bought the gold? Meaning what system or mechanic is able to say "This player bought gold, ban them.". It is impossible to tell if a player has actually bought the gold. Even if say a player bought 20 million gold, there is no evidence or proof that they bought it. So trying to ban the buyers is impossible.
The only "effective" way to deal with something like this is to go after the farmers, since you can't prove the buyers. To go off your title "Why do all MMO let bots and farmers ruin the game". Well, MMOs don't let them. However without proper manpower and resorces to combat bots and farmers it is a losing battle for that MMO. Another way is to try and target the websites that the sellers use. However, this requires a court judge, lots amount of time, and money. Of which if the site does get taken down, they can simply change the sites name.
I can go into this alot more, about 4 paragraphs or more of information. I use to create bots on other games, and I use to combat against bots. For a developer it is not easy to fight against bots.
Just check the transaction log if you get large amount of gold from either a known gold farmer or from a unrelated account then it probably a gold buy!
BAN!!
THEN THE BUYER WOULD HAVE TO APPEAL ANT THE BUYER WOULD HAVE TO PROVE THE GOLD WAS TRANSFERRED FOR A LEGIT REASON
TO FIGHT GOLD SELLING YOU HAVE TO GO BY IF IT QUACKS LIKE DUCK IT PROBABLY IS A DUCK

So players should get banned on "propably"! Are you crazy! No banning should require irrefutable proof.
I've seen bots on PS4 NA, and know a few places where they can usually be found. Believe me.
After thinking about it though, is it such a bad thing if bots farm mats? They could drive the disgusting gold mat prices on console down finally.
7K minimum Dreugh Wax
10K minimum Rosin
20K Tempering Alloy
I'm legit going to sell my 14 Tempering Alloys in hopes the price will eventually fall. My only worry is that nothing right now will stop them from rising in price instead, which is a very real possibility.
These prices should be significantly lower. At these prices, upgrading one piece of Heavy Armor costs you upwards of 150K.
It's good for small minded buyers who don't care but just want to exploit the issue and save money. Bad for sellers who might actually specifically be grinding to acquire those materials to sell.
I don't like the high prices, but i don't like things being cheapened because bots are doing it.

Bots on Xbox one, I don't believe it. Plus the market lately had been real stable, prices have been dropping slightly every week.

They were all stacked up on 1 rock and each toon would take turns making the run. They all had names like asdfasdfasdf sdfasfer trtrtteo

Well it's actually pretty great for the scummy sellers you are referring to now on PS4 NA. After checking today:
• Dreugh Wax has stabilized at or above 11K a piece
• Tempering Alloys have stabilized at or above 22K a piece
• Idk about Rosin anymore, but it's definitely between 11K-22K
The bots once selling Dreugh Wax for the "bargain" of 7K are now selling for 10K a piece.
What a mess..... Your innocent sellers have screwed 99% of the PS4 NA playerbase thanks to pure greed.
Small-minded buyers (as you put it) are trying their best not to feed into the prices that the big buyer guild stores have set.
For reference, there was a time when Dreugh Wax was 4-6K, Rosin was 3K, snd Alloys were 8-10K. It would still be this way if the sellers weren't greedy as **** and ZOS implemented add-on like databases for players to see what good prices were on these gold mats. No one can upgrade to Legendary anymore thanks to this nonsense.
ESO is a business, they are in it to make money.
So the question becomes: if we spend $X amount to stop bots, will it make us $X+ more money? They are not going to hire people and spend money if it isn't going to have a positive return.
If you were running the game, how would you determine if it is worth it to spend $X amount of money on policing bots? How would you measure the return on your investment?
Giles.floydub17_ESO wrote: »I assume you remember early days of ESO. 8 bots on every delve boss. Bots spawning in one after another at quest points, doing the interaction needed and disappearing. I expect XB is nothing like what we saw then. Zos got their act together and did much to correct it.
There may be another issue with XB, Zos does not control everything and that may play a role.

@Vaoh
Is there a reason why you quoted me twice?
And by small minded players, let me clarify, i was strictly referring to the sort of players who talk as though bots keeping prices down for those players to take advantage of as small minded. A surplus that exists only because of bots and thus can impact the price to go down? anyone who can't see why that's a bad thing is small minded. "But the prices are down! that means i can buy more!" it also means people who are *actually* playing and might be farming such items have to sell it for less.
You have to also take into account before blaming legit players of being greedy that simple notion of supply/demand. if literally everyone is selling this one item, it's not worth much, if everyone is trying to buy it? it's worth more.
Or any time ZOS tweak drop rates as a consequence of other players doing the wrong thing. When people mass duped items, or exploited the banker assistant withh resource surveys, they lower the chances of the better drops to try and get all that mass product diminished, but please, let's just blame 'greedy' players for selling their own items and act like bots are misunderstood heroes! because it's easier to be small minded.
game doesn't need addons, just needs an AH too. but sadly too many people cry out "No! i bought this game so i could walk from trader to trader and i will ragequit so hard if you add a system to make it more convenient for others to get things and return to the actual goal of the game!" etc.

I find bots on xbone hard too believe as well but stranger things have happened in sure. Farmers I've seen. Technically I as well as many others farm (run around collecting every node I see). All part of the game as far as I see it. Mob farming I don't really do except too power level. And I've gotta ask how do people tell if its a bot farming?
