So it's no secret that the craft bags are a brilliant way to keep people subbing even when they may not want to anymore. The thought of getting 500 emails of all my stuff sent back to me and having to manage the remaining inventory sounds like something worth procrastinating. As a result, most players will just keep paying the $15 a month even if they feel the game no longer deserves their support. Kudos, ZoS. Working as intended.

However, like many people I don't like being manipulated. I would gladly pay $15 a month or more if the game earned it by virtue of the game itself. But that is no longer the case. Crafting has now been marginalized, some motifs are now crown purchase only, and you are actively manipulating the market in game in order to maximize crown purchases in general. Am I surprised? Not really. Am I upset? Can't say I am. Just a bit disappointed.

So I will be selling all these stupid set pieces I'm hoarding along with any mats over 150 count to avoid multiple stacks (except maybe CP 160 refined mats), and once most of it is gone I will unsub. So congrats, ZoS, you have just given me a new goal to become an ESO minimalist. I would gladly resub if/when you refocus on the game instead of the crown store, but we all know that's not going to happen. I'll still check in here and there, maybe play a bit just to talk with my guildies, and craft pieces for friends. I'm not going to stop playing the game altogether; I'm just not going to pay you any more money.

ZoS, I really hoped you wouldn't go in this direction, but I guess most of us saw this coming. Oh well, all good things come to an end.

To each his own. I sub and enjoy the perks I get for doing so. In the future, though, you should refrain from using phrases such as "most players" etc. as you can really only speak for you. I also don't see how you're being "manipulated". IMO the game warrants my continued subscription.

the stuff in your bag remains useable but any mats you pick up go to normal inventory.

And I get that you feel the need to defend your choice to sub. If it fits you, that's great. But perhaps there is a little choice-supportive bias there.

No bias. Clearly just a difference of opinion. I'm not "defending" my choice to sub anymore than you are "defending" your choice to unsub. Just because you claim people are being "manipulated" doesn't make it so. I don't feel I'm being manipulated at all. You do. Simple as that. Enjoy your gaming.

If anything, ZOS made it so that players are "encouraged" to subscribe and get crafting backs by significantly upping the amount of drops players get (poison oils, motif crafting pieces and like things). I've looted a single rune node and gotten 5 drops from it. That must be hell on somebody without ESO+.

That's a good question. But let's look at it on a longer timeline. $15 a month is also $180 a year. Well, what I could get for that is three other games each year. That would be just one possible choice.

Just because you are getting what you want out of the game doesn't mean the game developers are not actively manipulating the in-game economy in order to drive up crown store sales. It's not even conspiracy, it's just business. I'm actually surprised it didn't move in this direction sooner.

That's a good question. But let's look at it on a longer timeline. $15 a month is also $180 a year. Well, what I could get for that is three other games each year. That would be just one possible choice.

Let's look at it another way; what good are three other games if you only play one?
If you play a game regularly and a feature is worth the money to you personally, it isn't a manipulation. Just because for you the benefits aren't worth the cost, doesn't automatically mean the same is true for anyone else.
Personally, I feel that the balance between crowns store content and free base game upgrades is about right. In fact I'd probably feel a little cheated if there was never anything worth getting in the crown store - after all, the subscription includes additional crown and there should be things to spend those on.

I have a feeling that in this game a lot of bots NPC in towns, who is advertising bright clothes, weapons and other goods. So, players must to feel their inferiority, and want to buy a cartoon drawn swords, for real money in ESO Store))

um no. my sub is £41.94 for 180 days so £83.88 for 360 days, near enough a year, (even with current exchange rates that's considerably less that you are quoting) and you will not get three quality titles for that kind of money.

Um yes. What I quoted is what we pay in the US for the monthly sub. $14.99 / month. And games are usually $49-59 per title. that's exactly three games.

^This; don't worry about your mats that are already in the bag; they'll stay there. If anything, stock up on those now while the space they take is 'free.' Dumping the dropped sets and stuff that take up your 'real' inventory is a good idea though. You're going to need the extra spots when you're no longer getting the benefit of the bag.

If you're on PC, you should wait for a Steam sale; then you could easily double that number of games.

If you're on PC, you should wait for a Steam sale; then you could easily double that number of games.

You're the second person to mention the bag issue. That's good to hear. I have so many mats it would be crazy to receive it all by mail.

Unfortunately I'm on PS4, so prices are pretty static unless you buy the games used. But there are a couple I have been meaning to try.
