Apothecary’s Parcels (Imperial City DLC Game Pack)
We’ve introduced Apothecary's Parcels to certain merchants in the Imperial City, enabling you to purchase herbs and other reagents in exchange for Tel Var Stones.
Thoughts? It's a huge change, and for the better. PVPing can be a very, VERY expensive hobby. Potions for PVP aren't cheap, and while you can buy some of the Alliance War Droughts from the vendors, they're never quite the same as a good ol' player made pot that does everything you need.
This gives PVPers more ways to sustain their hobby and puts a bit more incentive into visiting Imperial City.
Whoever decided to finally implement this at ZOS deserves a freshly baked sweetroll.
The economy will be fine. And do you want to know why that is? Hardcore PVPers don't make money. They really don't. Even selling AP for motifs and other goods really doesn't give much in the way of a monetary reward, so this means that PVPers will be able to fund themselves and sustain their personal gameplay more than, say... fund you. And that's a good thing. A really, REALLY good thing.RIP economy....
I used to be a diehard PVPer, and I quit running Cyrodiil daily because I was tired of the cheating (this is pre-CE explosion) and the constant procpocalypse. When I was PVPing, I'd spend 200-300K a month on wall repair kits, gold and siege. Yeah, I didn't have to, and I swapped to trash pots as much as I could... but repairs, sustain and pushing back the zerg aren't cheap.Verbalinkontinenz wrote: »I am not that often PVPing, so I only can feel some empathy for PVPers, I never experienced the problems on my own. But I believe the people who are telling, that its hard for them to gain gold for equip and potions. I am very curious, how much Tel-Var that herbs will cost and how it easens the life of the active PVPers. But from me - at least at first sight: Thumbs up.
RIP economy....
Also, maybe I'm thinking far too far ahead, and ZOS was simply thinking of a way to make Tel Var Stones attractive again and draw more players towards IC.

Do "pure-PVP-players" need gold ? What for ? As far as I know, for an experienced PVPer (which I assume a "PvP-only-player" is) , AP is very easy and quick to make and "everything they need" is available for AP.
I can see immovable pots and gold tempers as potential problems... But there were Akaviri motifs for trading ? Are they a thing of the past now ?
But yeah, now that Hakeijos and Repora's are gone maybe they need a new source of AP/TV=>Gold conversion.

Yeah, but let's be real - AP is also your only real source of gold if you're doing PVP. Maybe Tel Var. The cost for repair kits is still really high, so in many cases you're better off at saving up the AP and using gold to buy things like repair kits or siege so you can buy Akavari motifs or gear bags and hopefully flip 'em for cash.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Repair mats are available for AP.
Pots... well, they can farm flowers, like we all do. That's not "forced PvE-ing"...

Repair mats are available for AP.

And PVPers want to PVP, not run around for hours at a time vacuuming up flowers to be able to PVP.
The equivalent to this would be like telling PVErs that in order to run dungeons for undaunted they needed to spend a few hours in Cyrodiil every week PVPing just to be able to earn enough Undaunted Points to run a handful of dungeons. PVPers generally don't want to farm mats and PVE content and most PVErs don't want to be forced to PVP.Verbalinkontinenz wrote: »its forced farming u are talking about. pve-players are as well able to make gold and buy stuff from gold...
It's the same thing that happend with gear from trials being available in the zones, prices and sales dropped.

There's a disconnect, as ESO is sort of like two games in one. PVE and PVP have two majorly different communities, though some do overlap.
someone have a screen?

People who normally buy reagents en masse are people who run hardcore trials or dungeons, and are chugging potions non-stop to keep up their DPS. Yeah, it may hurt prices to a very minute degree, but really... 600g for a single columbine is terrible as it is.

Well, as first try and out of curiosity, I bought 3 of these satchels (price : 500 TV stones each)
I got :
- 3x Blue entoloma
- 3x Luminous Russula
- 3x Wormwood
- 3x Mountain flower
- 3x Columbine
- 3x Nirnroot
- 3x Blue entoloma
- 3x Bugloss
- 3x Columbine
- 6x Nirnroot
- 3x Butterfly wings
- 3x Violet Coprimus
- 3x Lady's smock
- 3x Nirnroot

Doesn't seem revolutionary, all in all.
