There should be an "other" and i would pick Dwemer.

Maybe with the release of the Clockwork DLC the Dwemer race is reintroduced to Tamriel.

I say "no" because it goes against multiple instances of the established lore, but I love when people come out with mods like that for the single player games, to be honest. Unfortunately, in an MMO setting, I have to prioritize a consistent-ish experience within the canon over everyone getting to play any silly/fun thing they can imagine. Playable Dwemer in a single-player TES game? Go for it! Playable Dwemer in ESO? I cast you out. :-|

As an NPC said in the Skyrim DLC some conclaves of Snow Elves could very well exist. After all the Chantry of Auri-El housed hundreds of Snow Elves before being attacked and that's just one of their religious temples. They, apparently, had one to each of their Gods so it is possible for actual unchanged Snow Elves to exist. Plus some could have joined Psijic Order and/or just be hiding out and blending in with Altmer and Maomer.

Even though I voted yes, because I love the unchanged Snow Elf race, I would rather see other races put into the game before them. Any of the Akaviri races would be nice, also Maomer or Sload or Imga would be cool. Now if they added Snow Elves just as an NPC race, maybe via a quest where you travel back in time... that'd be sweet and lore-friendly.

There could always bee a remote village or city hidden in the mountains. Remember the Dawnguard DLC to Skyrim? The whole Chantry of Auriel?

After the Nords almost exterminated the Snow Elves, forcing them to retreat to the depths and then taking Skyrim for themselves, how do you think they would react to seeing a bunch of them suddenly popping up in Skyrim? They are supposed to be dead/twisted into the goblin-like creatures we know as Falmer. We know they are not all dead/twisted because we played Skyrim, so we know there are few of them in hiding. But that's not something that the general population of Tamriel knows.

After they were almost completely killed off by the Nords? Sure, why not, the EP races have a history of hating each other already
Altmer and Maormer are at each other's throats all the time, with the Maormer frequently attacking the coast of the Summerset Isles and trying to take them from the Altmer. The Maormer killed the previous Silvenar.

If any playable race is ever added, I think they should be like the Imperials and be able to pick any alliance they wish.

They are gone. There is one known living Dwemer and he spends several years looking for other Dwemer, to no avail. Having a bunch of them suddenly running around would be even worse than Snow Elves.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I'm trying to figure out what point you are trying to make. That the existing alliances are based on love, mutual respect, common interests and not trying to kill or enslave each other?

In case you didn't realize it, the alliances are based geography. I.E, who is my next door neighbor! regardless if I hate them more.

In case you didn't realize it, the alliances are based geography. I.E, who is my next door neighbor! regardless if I hate them more.

Alliances are based on many things, but mostly history and necessity.
Both these races would be aiding races that they perceive as having stolen their land, in a war for power and territory. Why would they do that when they can aid an opposing faction with the promise that they will get their land back if they win?

Although, the biggest problem with the Snow Elves is that the Nords exterminated them. They are not supposed to be seen in Skyrim at all. The ones that didn't retreat to the underground caves/into hiding were killed off.

As a late edit: If you stay hung up on geography only, the only place we know where there were still remaining Snow Elves in TES: V is pretty close to the High Rock border, so we could argue they would be better off with the DC everything considered. As for the Maormer, there really isn't much of a case to be made in favor of any alliance. They raid all of the coast of Tamriel anyway, even if their relationship is particularly bad with the Altmer. And again, they murdered one of the leaders of the Dominion.

Now, SEA elves on the other hand... the maormer are in the game, they are going strong, no reason not to make them a crown store race like Imperials I would think...

May I ask a question that might be a bit off topic? Are there Falmer in this game? I'm rather new to it and haven't come across any. I'm a level 26 Imperial DragonKnight in the Daggerfall Covenant. I played up to level 20 as a Templar Imperial in the Ebonhart Pact and didn't come across any there either before I started over. I'm not sure I've found exactly what I want to do with my character yet so I keep switching it up. Thanks!

@CMFan1966 So far I have seen no Falmer and I have completed all Alliance zones except Group Dungeons. But no, I don't think there are any in ESO.

Adding that race in the game would make no sense, since by the time of the events in TES games, the snow elves have disappeared as a race, having been beaten by the Atmorans (proto-Nords) and then enslaved by the Dwemer and degenerated to the blind, simple minded Falmer thousands of years before. There are probably just a handful of Snow Elves alive in the 2nd era, and some even survived into the early 4th era (see. Dawnguard Skyrim DLC). It's surprising that the Falmer were not included in ESO as hostile NPCs though, because in Skyrim almost every Dwemer ruin had them.

No, they're dead. And before you argue the Chantry survivors, note that was a handful and they hid away from the rest of the world, no one knew they existed. So they definitely wouldn't have hundreds of them running around in Tamriel, begging for a Nord axe to the head.

Go with a different race. Imga, Sload, Maormer, even the other half dozen Argonian tribes that STILL aren't in game yet.
