Instead of making us log in every day...

To upgrade our mounts why not let us stack the training so it automatically begins next upgrade the minute the old one runs out, personally I can't get on every day so in the 2 or 3 months I've had the game game my horse has only been trained 25 times and at this rate it'll be over a year to max it out.

Also this way you still make money for people who want to speed up the process and would work as a compromise with the complaints about the way it is currently.

And before anyone gets their knickers in a twist this isn't a me complaining thread It's merely a suggestion the devs may take notice of.

It's not only that I can't make it on every day, it's that I sometimes forget also. Then I lie awake all night, thinking "Did I feed my horse? I didn't, did I? I'm such an idiot. Why didn't I just feed the horse. Should I get up and do it now? Ugh I have work in the morning, I don't really have time.", and this goes on for a good hour or two as I battle with my conscience.
Sorry, getting off track slightly. Yes, stacking would be good thank you. Maybe Stable assistants or something. You pay a small fee, and they will feed your horse for you depending on how many days you need.

Park you toon near a stable ever night. Then when you log in viola, you're right there. AS far as not logging in everyday, just break down and get the riding lessons from the Crown store. Nothing worse than a slow horse.

I would be happier if they just went the way so many free to olay games go and just have a daily login gift. Get people logging in everyday for that.

Im glad most my horses are done. I couldnt imagine trying to do a couple at a time with how bad the load screens are now.

    Awesome idea! Count me in!

As for me, it's not as much as the possibility to log in everyday, it's the necessity to log in and out of every damn alt everyday that is killing me. Seriously, with all the loading screen, I lose around 15 mins at the beginning of every gaming night, just to feed stupid horses. 15 mins may seem like not that much, But I,m having a couple hours of play every night to change my mind and have fun, not to watch some damn loading screens.

When I'm home the first things I'll do is on my two toons is upgrade mount then daily dungeon for xp so its not about being too lazy to go to stable, its that I'm not there to train them and paying for a faster horse is something I just won't do on principle.

ESO isn't F2P which is why they don't have the lame daily gift.

I agree that stacking training for like 7 days would be good.

And back when the game was subscription only, that made sense. Now that it's B2P, there's really no longer any need for it, aside from possibly the idea that it would cut into crown store sales of riding lessons. I doubt being able to queue up your training at a stable would really have an effect on crown store sales, though, because it wouldn't make a huge difference in how quickly you get trained up, and I'm pretty sure most people who buy riding lessons from the crown store do it because they want to increase their speed/capacity/stamina now.

I still think it'd be nice to be able to feed/train your horses without limits so long as you have the gold available.

I don't even play with my characters until their horses are maxed, so that's 180 days from creation to actually playing them, because there is nothing worse than a slow horse. And low bag space.

I'd rather have a "lame gift" than punishing game design that requires me to schedule my life around a video game.

One doesn't have to train a horse. I knew a player that went his first year without a mount until I he Guar mounts came about. Even in Cyrodiil he went without a mount.

After the mount is trained then no more need to go through this motion.

I hate that it takes 6 month to finish a horse.
When the new character slots came out, I made 4 new characters. They sat at their starter city stables for 4+ months (I also have days I can't log in) while I upgraded speed and stam on the horses and got thier personal bags upgraded to max so they would at least have 140 spaces.

I had plenty to do on the other 8 characters so they just sat there upgrading. I made it a habit to log into them each day when I started playing so I wouldn't forget. I just recently started playing with them when I started the bag upgrades on the horse. I have purchased horse upgrades in the past when they were on sale half price but I refuse to buy any more.

I really wish they would allow is to buy 1 of each upgrade every day to cut that time down. That's essentially how it was when the game started and you could have multiple horses per character. People had 3 and upgraded each every day. When they made it character based, the horse stats got combined so the people that had 3 got a max horse in much less time than people that didnt do 3 did.

It's ok though. I've got about 45 days left and I will never have to level a horse ever again.

it isn't the mount that's being trained...

Used to be it was the mount being fed. You'll still see people talking about feeding their horse, because it used to be you were actually cramming apples, oats, or... I think wheat, down your mount's gullet every day.

Also, back then, the mounts themselves had the upgrades. So you could actually have multiple horses, and be feeding them different things to get different stats from them. Mounts were level capped at 50, so you could only upgrade your horse 49 times (the final upgrade would give an additional +1 to each stat, and would add a blanket to the mount's visuals).

One doesn't have to wear armor. I knew a player who ran dungeons naked. If his group was occasionally annoyed because he kept dying, well, so what? He can play however he wants.

Until you create a new character. And another. And another... Did you know we have 12 character slots available now?

    I agree.

I think this and the time required for crafting research are a hold-over from when the game was subscription based and how often you logged in was directly linked to ZOS's profits. If they had allowed you to stack up mount training back then you could have farmed gold for a month, bought as many mount upgrades as possible and then cancelled your sub until they were done. (And considering there are people in this thread saying they don't play a character until they're fully upgraded it doesn't seem unlikely people would do that.)

Now it should be less of an issue for them. It is true that if you're not logging in you're less likely to buy crown store items, but it's not as directly linked. Some people claim cash shops (even purely cosmetic ones) appeal mainly to those with limited time - they're less able to get the cool items obtained in the game but they can buy them from the store. And if you're wearing a fancy costume and riding a bear whose going to know it's because your armor is pretty generic and you don't own a horse?

I have maxed horses on four of my characters, and one month left to finish the fifth.

The other three are going to take forever... I think I have four months left for each.

Not really inspired to buy more character slots. I don't want to be feeding horses forever, and logging in on four characters a day just to pay 250g takes more time than I would care to admit. Sometimes I don't even bother, and give myself the day off from caring.

I think you missed his point there, Stark :o . The revamped mount system trains players to log in frequently and/or trains them to buy from the crown store. It works, too. As much as I hate paying crowns for them, I have bought some riding lessons to get around the BS system in place. I'll be surprised if zos changes this, but I also support stacking multiple training days. I can't see how it would hurt zos as long as only crown store lessons shorten the training.

I have never had a problem training my characters' horses at the stable.

You can make it easy on yourself by logging off for the night standing right next to the stablemaster. That way, when you log in the next day, you can immediately receive training. I've got six (6) characters at 60/60/60 riding skill using this method ... with another currently at 60/60/51 and another at 43/42/0.

Can't log in every day due to real life? Sometimes forget to go train amongst the other events going on in the game? There's a solution for that too. Riding lessons in the Crown Store can be bought for a minimal fee.

There are certainly issues that are currently worth talking about in the forums. Having the access or perseverance to train your mount is not one of them.
