I had the same thought about CP in relation to red mountains damage output, was told by knowledgeable folk that CP doesn't effect the proc damage. Worth a test though, people can be wrong.
I personally sided with viper, as I would rather do predictable, consistent damage output than have the potential for slightly higher numbers. All comes down to preference as usual
As for what to run...VO is absolutely wonderful in PVE(unless you managed to get a full impen set). Your stamina management woes will be a thing of the past. That 5/8% cost reduction(can't remember which) is VERY noticeable, and it's rather fun to zip around the room buzz sawing everything in sight! I normally pair VO with either hundigs or viper, beautifully nasty combinations
- It's not an ugly Argonian style

So, I made a couple NMG sharp daggers to finish my set. The ones I had were precise. I was looking at TBS, but it would mess everything up. I add weapon damage enchant on front and crusher on offhand.
I'm not sure what the "Best" monster set is to use, so I threw on Veledreth. It seems to proc often and sometimes hit things. I may go back to skoria.
I haven't got the right Viper dagger drops yet to try it out with a monster set yet either. It seems the NMG is pretty good.
