The catch? It is highly likely that the massive Daggerfall castle will be one of the six Crown Store offerings, and not one of the 30 in-game Gold offerings.

My biggest worry, here is this very nice house for 5M gold. 1 month later, here is a better one for 10000 crowns. 5M gold has a, less than following the user agreement, value of $825. 10,000 crowns is $100 which you probably spend on your subscription anyway. It would be the glass motif troll to the tenth power. ZOS has not been very attentive to their economy in general and has also been very secretive as a general policy. I just really hope I don't get bilked out of my spending power with a big housing gold sink only to get trolled by a crown store money grab right after. In other words, if you going to do crown housing as well, do it the same day as housing and let us make the decision. I'm not against crown housing at all. I just want to actually see my options.

it's less of a problem given that you can just buy both!

This looks pretty awesome I have to say.

I hope the houses come with extra storage options.

This almost sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? I have a feeling that it will never be 100% in-game gold based, maybe only initially. Eventually things will start appearing on Crown Store... And I know i'm probably right, but feel free to disagree.

@Enodoc , where was that mentioned about the 6 being crown items? I missed that and would like to learn more..
    Thanks!!

@wenchmore420b14_ESO It was datamined, but I can't remember who by (it may have been 5 Crown Store houses rather than 6). It was also in that datamining that we first found out there would be three houses per race as well, which was later confirmed by the video in the OP. @Dominoid may know where the datamined info can be found.

Did the data-mining happen to include prices or which house is which?

Ultimately I am not against the idea of both crown store and gold currency housing. I just want to know what my suite of options is before I purchase. Hopefully they will release all at the same time so that I can make an informed choice. Otherwise, knowing or suspecting as I now do both crown and gold options, I will probably hold any purchase until all options are released.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

@f047ys3v3n Not that I know of. But the guess is that the biggest ones will be the Crown Store ones. If you have a look at the UESP page on Player Housing, you an see all the houses currently added to the game world. There are three houses in most racial architectures, except for Breton, Dunmer, and Khajiit which have 4. It is likely that those three "extra" houses are Crown Store ones, but it is not clear which ones are the extras.

Pessimistic view: The extras are the largest ones - the Daggerfall castle, the Ebonheart mansion, and the S'ren-ja estate.

Optimistic view: There are two of each of these styles which seem to be similarly sized from the outside - these are the extra ones. Fell's Run or Wayrest, Narsis or Mournhold, and Dune or Rawl'kha.

Man what a great page. I have got to go see some of these. Thanks.

I really don't care one way or another whether the crown stuff is the largest or mid sized. I just want to see the options I have before I spend my resources.

That would absolutely kill the game.

Didnt kill Skyrim. It was one of the things I loved about Skyrim and I've talked about it on 4 different teamspeake servers and the 100 or so people Italked to were all wanting it done. It wont kill the game. If you cant have storage like in Skyrim, it will probably not do all that well, but it wont kill the game.
