Treasure Maps | trash inside

So I have this CP passive unlocked that increase quality of items found in chests, and another granting increased gold amount in chests, but I feel like still most of chests contain just trash. Single set items usually contains training or prosperous traits, useless crap for decon only.

Now it's more - usually the prices for treasure maps in guild stores are ridiculously overpriced. This what we can find in chest does not correspond with the market value of maps.
I usually find the below crap:

B9Afanl.jpg

the Purple Robe of the Trainee was in training trait, just like all others Trainee set parts.
Like this set wasn't already a crap that nobody needs :).

Now try to find a map that is worth less than 600g.
The items you find cannot cover the cost.

Good to know, but what was your character level when using the maps? Curious because I have a ton of maps taking up bank space.

Maybe you didn't know this, but the Trainee set only come with the training trait, regardless if it's cp160 or lvl 1.

All I can say is next time, don't buy maps for Bleakrock, Bal Foyen, Khenarthi's Roost, Stros M'kai and Behtnik. The Trainee set will only drop in training

Why would location change the gear to low level stuff. If I remember they were supposed to give you stuff more in line with your current level?

I will say the passive works, before I used it one day, I did some testing. Without it, I was getting mostly Greens and a few Blues. Now I get Blues and some Purples. If I get any Greens, it is the stuff that is decon trash anyway even if it was Blue.

However, the Treasure Chests are a guaranteed drop of a Set Item so that is why the maps are so expensive. You don't have to buy them, Troves are a great source of Treasure Maps.

And, if your worried about getting Trainee gear, then stop doing maps in the Starter Islands and instead, sell those maps your self. Trainee only drops on the starter islands. And, the Trainee set only drops with the Training set, hence it's name. If you want other traits on Trainee, do the quests on the starter islands, the Trainee stuff drops with other traits from those Quests.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Prosperous and Training traits are not useless for new players with low level characters, even non-set items. Of course if gear is too good the Explorer's Pack borders on pay2win. Might be fun to have different types of items depending on whether or not a character has reached level 50.

I have a full set of Trainee on my Treasure Hunter Sorc. And by full set i mean all 7 armor pieces.

The additional CP from the set is very noticeable. That set is far from useless ...

PS: Also, i get plenty of purple set pieces, including jewellery from the maps. I had several hundred of them stashed away waiting for 1T to hit and now i have 3 mule characters with max bag slots full to the brim with sets from all over Tamriel.

The Trainee set will only drop in training
It does drop in other traits from chests, it's just very, very rare.

I got 4 trainee pieces that aren't training but i also used several hundred treasure maps and opened another several hundred zone chests.

    They are out there ...

For new accounts with zero CP
Traing is superior up to level CP 160
for the simple reason that the CP benefits are far bigger than having Divines or whatever

I guess that the break even is somewhere around CP 300

Meaning that if there would be two accounts
and one account would go for the short term benefit of fighting traits like Divines
And the other account would follow the longer term strategy of growing CP first

The account using Training would be much stronger, except for a small period of time where the invest started.

    My 2 cents
"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

Just a FYI for the OP:
As mentioned, change zones. Each zone drops certain sets, and your in the Training zone. Notes for Update 12 list what and where.
    For specific loot:
    Jewlry drops from Dolman Boss's
    Belts, Sash's & Boots from Delve's
    Everything else from World Bosses

    Hope this helps..

I forgot to mention I'm ~CP540, but what I had in mind, except the overpriced maps in stores is that I could expect something more from these special "treasures", more than just +/- same items in multiple chests. I see the same:
    - amount of 106 gold
    - single glyph for deconstruction
    - empty soul gem with a small chance for full gem
    - +/- green and blue trash items for deconstruction
    - guaranteed set item specific for the area (probably the only item worth digging for)

What I had in mind is to have more diversity-unpredictability in these findings, not all treasures by a fixed scheme.
Now before I even approach to the mound and dig a chest I know what I can expect to see inside.
I don't want to find milion gold inside or some gold items, sure, it's just not the best way how a treasure hunter should find rare "unknown treasures" :). At least let the gold amount be found with a chance of lower-higher amount, one time can be 10 g, another 100 and yet another 1k or even 2k gold. Put an enhanced element of surprise and unpredictability to these findings, that's all I ask :).

I have given up on the maps. I had stores a bunch of them, haven't gotten anything worth selling or using. Max cp I don't need anything with training or prosperous.
