dueling contests for the sub races

this is an idea I came up with and figure ill let forum trolls pick at it and see if its viable.

monthly dueling contest fore each sub-race (ww, vamps) in which the winner of the contest for their sub-race becomes a alpha ww or vampire lord for next 30 days. my suggestion is contest is split into 4 sections each a week long with a 2 day break before next contest.

week 1 would be a free for all scramble for points. you gain points by defeating other members of your sub-race. for example a vampire would gain points for defeating other vampires in dueling. also the loser of the contest loses a point for the loss. if a player has negative points (below zero) wins against them by other members with positive point count no longer generate points (anti-farming mechanism). a global leaderboard would be available for players to see their ranking and that of potential challengers. top 25% of the sub-race members move on to participate in week 2.

week 2 is another point scramble but instead of positive/negative point anti-farm mechanic rather only generates points/loses points off first 5 duels with other participants. also instead of a fixed 1 point gain losted would rather you gain 5 points for defeating opponents with lower points then you and 5 points plus 10% of the point difference if opponent is higher then you. this would create need to strategize your fights. Top 16 players move on to week 3.

week 3 consists of the final 16 contestants dueling each other. each duel generates 1 point. losses though no longer subtract points. contestants rather duel each other in a best 2 of 3 system meaning once 2 participants have fought and one participant has achieved 2 wins, duels between those 2 members no longer generate points (point cap is 30 points). top 2 players move on to week 4.

week 4 is same as week 3 only between the last 2 contendors for the title of alpha ww or vampire lord.

benefits consist of:

vampire lord:
doubles power of vampire abilities against non-vampire npc/players
gains access to unique vampire lord skill: thrall: turns target into one of your thralls for 10s. opponent fights for you against your enemies.

alpha ww:
removes timer from werewolf form.
allows use of non-weapon skills in ww form
allows weapon swapping in ww form

No. Youre excluding players that arent werewolves or vampires and whats worse, youre giving the victors even stronger attacks/abilities against them. Theres prejudice in your idea.

Why should winning a dueling contest give anyone powers in pvp? Dueling is for testing stuff or for tourists to pretend they pvp.

if you wanted to participate you could become a vamp or ww. how is it prejudice or excluding people who wanna join in?

No. Way to easy for a guild to select who that want to win (paid the most) then they just feed them points. And if you think this wouldn't get exploited in the very first hour it went live, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.

WW and vamp are not races. They are diseases.

Also, to answer your suggestion, no. This should not be added to the game in any similar design.

the entire point of the scoring format would prevent that from happening. the entire point of losing points and not gaining points if you positive and opponent negative points is to prevent farming. so no there wouldn't be exploiting just as guilds don't exploit ap to elect one of their own emperor, they will push to get the keeps when their guy is on top, but they don't have one guy that all he does is get emp every time and no one else has a shot, I have worked with a number of guilds with top end leaderboard players and usually 2-3 of the top leaderboard players trying to get emp, are in the same guild. it would be same as well as the total available points is limited in format I described.

you do realize the point of a post like this, is to generate feedback on an idea, not someone just saying nope don't like it. if you can state logical arguments to not add it, that one thing, but simply stating no is nothing more then you just posting a comment to post a comment.

Having access to a skilline that seems OP in comparison based on placing first in a contest is not cool at all. I am sorry gear is one thing but this is taking it too far. Enough participation (AP) in PvP to unlock essential skills is enough skill segregation but only allowing the best to get such huge buffs is just overkill and will skew leaderboards to the point that no one else will even have a chance to compete for emperor...

As the emperor powers are actually earned in pvp, and benefit pvp, I really dont see your point.

whats op? vampire skill I suggested for vampire lord? its a utility skill really only would be good in pvp, doubling power of vamp skills on nonvamp targets? some use in pvp, but more use in pve putting vamp skills maybe on par with moderate skills for dps. or are you talking about ww which the only benefit would be bar swapping and using non weapon skills in conjunction ww skills. in stead of saying a blanket statement give some argument as to why its op. just saying its op says nothing. it just says you don't like it and you gonna say something to dissuade discussion without any argument against it. give an argument, list something I have said, why its op, give a suggestion to make it then not op. this is a good idea, and the idea of putting this on forums for discussion, is to fine tune the idea and maybe get zos to consider it.

    Oh, sub, not scrub.

Vamps and werewolves are afflicted, not separate races. But anyway still an interesting concept. Maybe have an achievement line for the duels.
