Why the "low-quality" variant of Infallible Aether, Vicious Ophidian, Eternal Warrior

Since One Tamriel there are three new sets that drop in all Trials in Craglorn, that are a direct downgrade of the previously already released sets Vicious Ophidian, Infallible Aether and Eternal Warrior.

See the Comparison between Eternal Warrior...
(2 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(3) Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
(4 items) Adds 1064 Max Health
(5 items) When you die, you instead turn into a statue for 3 seconds and gain 200 Ultimate. While a statue you are immune to all negative effects but can still be healed. This effect can occur once every 10 minutes. Adds 4% Healing Taken

... and Immortal Warrior.
(2 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(3 items) Adds 1064 Max Health
(4 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(5 items) When you die, you instead turn into a statue for 3 seconds. While a statue, you are immune to all negative effects, but can still be healed. This effect can occur once every 20 minutes.

(3 items) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.

When you kill an enemy, you restore 2150 Stamina and gain Major Expedition for 20 seconds, increasing your Movement Speed by 30%. Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(2 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina

(5 items) Reduces the cost of Stamina abilities by 8%. When you kill an enemy, you gain Major Expedition for 20 seconds, increasing your Movement Speed by 30%.

And finally between Infallible Mage...
(2 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(3 items) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 items) Your fully charged heavy attacks do an additional 903 damage.
Enemies you damage with fully charged Heavy Attacks are afflicted with Minor Vulnerability for 10 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 8%. Adds 688 Spell Critical

... and Wise Mage.

Why are these sets ingame and blocking a drop that could've been the already ingame set.
Why not doing a completely new set instead of just including a low-grade substitute?

    They probably have a higher drop rate in normal and lower drop rate in vet. Just as before, in normal the non trial sets had a higher drop rate in normal and lower in vet.

    So there is a gear that can be the main gear to drop in normal trials. Groups that only do normal trials must run them more to get a full set of the better gear and it should be this way.

    If you want an answer, that is the answer. If you do not agree with it, well, it does not change the reason why it is this way.

    Been doing VHRC VSO and VAA since 1T and these pieces drop no more than infall, eternal and VO infact in my experience seem to be a much lower drop rate than the 3 sets I mentioned, so i'm not sure whether the tables are borked or as i'm led to believe these were just placed as fillers with the exact same drop rates as the sun, syrabane and warlock drops from last patch which would mean that the normal trial drop rates of these sets are much higher, I rarely run normals though tbh so i'm not exactly sure.

    These sets are not new. They dropped in trials before 1T.

    Check your memory lane again. These set dropped not pre 1T patch but pre Imperial city patch and for a long time when no one ever wanted or used them.
    They were not introduced in the beginning after trials got the update but with 1T as filler sets for sun/ necro etc. What OP is asking is why we have filler sets of the existing sets considering these are not desirable.
    On the point of people running only normal trials, well they were getting all VO/ Aether sets from normal before too so this logic is completely irrelevant.
    Now my 2 cents-

    It was a usual idiotic move by ZOS to even introduce these sets and put them in trials just to dilute the loot table and keep the farm going on. I don't care if the drop rate compared to the original sets is lower or same but these sets should not be there.

    IIRC, The 3 inferior sets were introduced into the game before VO/IA/EW were a thing. ZOS SHOULD have updated HRC and AA before SO, while also introducing these sets back into the Pool Table at higher levels so as to make them somewhat(?) desirable for their time. That way, once SO was upgraded, people would be geared up to try and get the upgraded stuff. ZOS being ZOS, however, screwed the pooch and did it backwards, resulting in the superior gear getting its facelift long before the Inferior stuff and instead of altering the old stuff to be worthwhile, they just scaled it up and diluted the loot tables with crappy gear that is neither useful nor desirable to anyone that ran vSO for the few months before HRC and AA got their upgrades.

    To add insult to injury, they further butchered the actually desirable sets like Twice Fanged Serpent and Healing Mage, by making them 5 piece bonuses instead of their original 3 piece. It's like they're telling you that they're out of ideas and just add old things back into the game and pretend no one will notice.

    This !!! Those 3 PC sets should have been introduced with more power and they would have found their place in the builds. But with 5 PC upgrade they *** them than they were already.

    Because with all the sets they took out of trials they had to find something to drop in trials besides The main set people wanted.

    And since the whole point seemed to be to get the the other good sets people wanted out of trials. They couldn't replace the removed sets, with good equipment or there was no point in taking the other equipment out of the trial.

    From my experiences, there is EXACTLY one piece of the good stuff dropping in normal trials among 12 people.

    did vet hard mode SO last night... got a VO ring and the immortal warrior ring (the weaker one of the two)
    plus some random gear pieces for trial and craglorn sets. It didn't really seem like the drop rates were any different. Almost like equal chances.
