ESO Has Deserted the Veteran Player

This message is directed to ZOS.
I've been an ESO Plus member since may of 2014 and I'm very disappointed in the direction the game has, and is, taken. I've
talked to many veteran members and most are not happy either. Take Craglorn for instance, it used to be a privilege, after
working your way up to veteran rank, to go there. Now every Tom, ***, & Harry can go, and believe me their there. What do you say to the veteran member who worked hard to make vet level for that privilege, and now anybody can go " sorry for your
privilege loss, your just screwed". And we are screwed because everybody and anybody is out there stripping out the farming items. Us, the veteran players, have no decent place to go to farm to make a living in the game. I'm a Certified Master in all
crafting skills, and consider myself an Armor Specialist (I can make 37 of the current 40 styles in the game and lack only
Celestial, Yokadan, and Draugr Styles). These motifs are very expensive plus you have another dozen styles on the horizon.
Where can you tell me where to go, or what to do, to make the amount of money needed to buy these. It sure isn't Craglorn
anymore. You've sold us out, the people who got you where you are today, to go after the teenagers and kiddies to broaden
your marketing share. And sadly enough they seem only to be interested in phishing scams, macros, and destroying the mar-keting values of what they can farm. Your ruining your game and you have sold us out. I am earnestly inquiring about other
MMO's because of your desertion of the long time veteran player. Oh, there is so much more I have to say (I've covered only
one aspect of how things have gone south) but I'm tired and I think you get my point.

You're complaining because everyone has access to craglorn now.....

You know, getting to level 50 can be done in a matter of hours. So there's nothing "earned" here. There are plenty plenty plenty things to complain about, but this just makes no sense.

Craglorn may have been a privilege but what point did it have when no one went there except to farm nirncrux. The new styles aren't overly expensive. I have Celestiel and spent less than 500k to get them all. I also have draugr and did the dailies to get most of them and bought the rest. Still need Yokudan but the Witches Festival event has sidetracked me from me doing that as yet. Want to make money easily? Go to a zone that isn't Craglorn, farm materials there and sell the raw stuff or refine it and sell gold tempers. Go farm armour sets in other PvE zones. Stonefalls, Malabal Tor and Bangkorai have some very sought after sets that people will pay a premium to attain.

I am a long time player. Subbed since day 1 and played in beta and I don't feel deserted by ZOS and the changes they have made in One Tamriel. In fact, I feel the complete opposite as I no long feel isolated in a huge world. I expect to see people around when I travel so this update gives me that.

I've been playing since January 2014 and think that the game is in much better shape now than it's ever been.

The game clearly has a healthy population, some hard content (Vet Trials, Vet Maelstrom etc) dailies giving older content like Dark Anchors, world bosses and delves meaning again (not to mention different sets in different zones and dungeons) nodes are plentiful, 5 DLC packs so far, holiday events happening and another one on the way, duelling (which is really fun to watch in Hammerdeath Arena) housing on the way, more DLC is on the way (Vvardenfell by the looks of it) gold is easy to find and make.

So not all veteran players share your thoughts.

I thought this was going to be a complaint about the release rate of dungeons, trials, and all-around difficult content (not to mention throwing PVP more bones), not access to Craglorn. Color me surprised.

Go to a zone that drops coveted sets like Deshaan (Mother's Sorrow), Stonefalls (Sun/Red Mountain) or Malabal Tor (Spinner) and farm for gear there that you can sell. And now you can grab resource nodes along the way to make a bit more of a profit!

I've been playing since the first closed beta invite, and played all of them. Pre purchased and been playing since pre release. So I guess i'm a vet also.... for whatever that's worth. I feel excluded because you didn't talk to me.
But that's probably a good thing for you, because I think 1T is great as it breaths life back into the zones. But I'm not one of those type of selfishly entitled players that feels everything should revolve around me.
Good luck in finding some other game to be miserable in.

I also subbed since early access and I hated Craglorn. When it released I didn't have time to play that much and also I preferred PvP. And when I wanted to quest I could find no groups for the group quests and if I did find a group, all they wanted was grind.

Privilege? What are you talking about. "What do you say to the veteran member who worked hard to make vet level for that privilege"

Worked hard? everybody and their mother was Vet 12 then Vet 14 quick by grinding in Craglorn. It could be done in less then a day. To V16 even less.

I am glad is is mostly a solo zone now with a few group things. I never was able to finish it because of people had to be at same quest stage and later I found no groups. Now I could do it together with my wife.

No, I do not feel deserted. I feel privileged.

To be honest unless I'm farming for nirncrux (which is rarely) I only ever go to craglorn for the trials. Haven't even done the quests because most of my buddies do pvp. Now I can have a go at soloing it thanks to ZOS. This is why craglorn is very busy at the minute. Once everyone has finished their quests the population in craglorn will level off so don't panic just give it time. You might actually see a higher demand for nirnhoned items and cheaper nirncruxs in the guildstore thanks to this because more players will have traitstones they'd like to sell or craft with, so get crafting and selling nirnhoned gear for players to research. Theres the money. Although not everyone wants nirnhoned items don't forget there's alot of 9 trait crafting gear that none of us can make without that nirnhoned trait researched. Theres always a loop hole to exploit when a big change effects the economy.

If I had everything researched in nirnhoned I'd be in craglorn right now asking players if they want to buy nirnhoned item with gold and a nirncrux. You could make thousands. Instead I'll be one of those players looking for guys like you to sort me out.

I soloed around 98% of Craglorn before OT and I did it again now with my Stamina NB. The only difference is, that you are able to solo more instances (no players needed for levers and pressure plates) and bosses now and at bigger ease, because many were nerfed.

..and if there are some bosses which are difficult to solo (Shada, or the bosses with tons of adds from the quest line where you have to charge some sort of stones) there are at least players around for a quick help.

So no, I really appreciate the changes. At last I could do Spell Scar and Shada with all my chars who missed that. All three Skyreach instances or the Warrior School for example I soloed already before. It's just a tad easier now.

So let me see if I understand this correctly.

The OP is complaining because he doesn't have the market cornered on something from Craglorn, which was otherwise deserted, because now more people can and do access it. So instead of adapting to a shifting economy, he's going to raise a big stink about how because he's a veteran and should have exclusive rights to all existing veteran content as well as any new content people might be interested in. Disregarding the popularity or lack thereof of older content, a lot of which is really only feasible to do or collect if it is fairly popular. Ending, of course, with the standard ragequit threat of moving to Canada if he doesn't get his way.

    Did I get that right?

Sorry, but you my friend have been suckered way too much into the MMO reward treadmill. If you consider what you are doing to be work, then why are you doing this to yourself? You don't get a paid for it at the end of the month.

I work for a living. ESO is play. Work, play... exact opposites. If you are playing in such a way that makes you consider it 'work' - then I believe you are doing it wrong.

What's up with all the "veteran" players turning into elitists all of a sudden this patch?

I don't think they are turning into elitists all of a sudden, I think it's people who have always been elitists, who just happens to be veteran players, coming out of the woodwork.
