That was the problem with Craglorn, not many people would spend any great length of time there due to its poor implementation. If it was good for you first time around, then more power to you, but those guys who are there now have as much right being there as you do. I have no idea why people think they're more deserving of content than others. Craglorn was dull as dishwater, it wasn't anything to do people having to earn the right to be there, it was everything to do with it being a pretty rubbish experience for what we now know was the majority of players.

You still have your vet dungeons to get all precious about, so it's not as if you 'vets' having nothing to use as a stick to bash us unworthy players over the head with. It's amazing what some people see in certain content when the majority see something else entirely. Still laughing at the thought you had thought all this time it was a 'privilege', when nothing could have been further from reality.

Edit: I also don't see what being paid member has to do with anything. I have paid sub fees, yet I thought it was rubbish, so who's right? You or me? Neither of us I suspect.

What's up with all the "veteran" players turning into elitists all of a sudden this patch?

most of them probably already elitist in the first place, with One Tamriel update make them more salty towards new player, thus the elitist side of them floating on the surface

hell, i played from Beta and don't have any problem with the One Tamriel, in fact, 1 Tamriel make ESO alive, make ESO feels like truly MMO and a bit more of a TES game, its sad that their elitist side can't see the bright side of the things

No idea what is the problem.
Is it because you cant be alone in Craglorn anymore, lol?
Craglorn was a ghost town shortly after it was introduced, im happy its changing.
Even "back then", it was not really a "privilege for veteran players" to go there. If someone went, it was just for farming Anomalies, Hircines or farm some krux lol. What im saying is: Being at max level was nothing special, and all it did, was speeding up the process of turning craglorn into a ghost town.

The thing most of them can't seem to wrap their head around is without new players, this game becomes irrelevant and soon dies. I have never understood the mentality of some gamers and their love for all things niche. So many devs that refused to move with the times and catered for these types of gamers have bitten the dust. If the original product in its previous state was successful, those games and devs would still be around today catering for those players. Niche products for the hardcore are great in theory, but are mostly unsustainable in the long run.

I mean, I can see why people complain about both Oblivion and Skyrim being more of a dumbed down experience of what went before, but I can also fully understand why Bethesda decided to make them more noob friendly. If people dislike something so much, they like the rest of us, have the option to move onto something else. It's not as if there isn't dozens of other games out there. I still remember the battering Morrowind took. Why? Because it wasn't Daggerfall. The same will happen with the next TES game because it isn't Skyrim. Even Mass Effect 2 got slated when it first came out because it was nothing but a Gear of War clone. Now it's considered the pinnacle of the series by many. Change is never good for some people, yet it's vital games do evolve.

The way I see it, the more players doing Craglorn content, the more Yokudan motifs there are on the market. The more Yokudan motifs there are on the market, the lower the prices will be. The lower the prices, the quicker I can complete the collection. =D I just need Celestial Legs motif and half a dozen Yokudan motifs to be caught up with all the motif styles. Then I can go dormant on my account again and wait for the next motif to come out.

In this case it's valid as the OP is outright saying that veteran players have been abandoned, so we clearly need to step up and say otherwise (if indeed that is how we feel).

I couldn't disagree more with OP. Most of the changes in 1T, to include Craiglorn, have been great. I love that I can solo or group in Craiglorn now. Before 1T I never got to do any of the Craiglorn quests because of group restrictions and the fact that no one was interested in that content. After 1T I can't say enough how awesome the story and content is in Craiglorn. I'm glad ZOS made the change as I would have never been exposed to such a great storyline.

US PC NA players don't need foreign help. We can do just fine. We'll just have to force you EU players to pay for the wall around Craglorn.

the thing i am disappointed in is that grinding has surpassed crafting as the best way to attain armour.
armour sets like hundings rage, twice born, night mother- when i started i used to dream of the day 6 months away i could have a set like that- i would dream of motifs i d make it in- combinations of colours- and build towards it.

no some little *** who just bought the game- can literally grind up from level 30 to cp180 in a week ( i ve seen it this xp boost) and not only that -get a set along the way thru grinding that far outpowers and outperforms anything that can be built.
really disappointing . there used to be a distinction in having cp. it was earned not grinded.
now having alot of cp dosent mean anything- certainly not experience as it literally means. as these guys have gotten it from steel tornadoing across bangkorai in a week! no craft research, no dungeon xp, no cyrodil xp- just a *** load of spamming steel tornado to get a spriggan/ viper set that smashes anything i can build in pvp.

I don't think they are turning into elitists all of a sudden, I think it's people who have always been elitists, who just happens to be veteran players, coming out of the woodwork.

    ^ This lol!

A lot of these changes are things that many of us have been asking for since beta and launch. There are a few that seem to have elected themselves to speak for all "Vets" though they don't seem to share the same views as any of the "Vets" you'll actually meet. If the beta forums were still up or archived somewhere you could go through and see thread after thread asking for many of the recent changes lol.

When you bump the max level so high something has to be done to make it easier for new players to level up faster and in my opinion this update has pleased everyone barring the ESO snobs who can't be bothered to adapt to change.

Its important to maintain the interest of new players as its the only reason the game expands and keeps things interesting for the vets. Without these changes new players would see high level buids as either unachievable or too much hard work to bother.

I hardly see an issue with changes to Craglorn. It especially does not hurt the Vet/CP player in any way. Craglorn was never that special outside of it adding content.

    @OP,

I've been telling a few people on these forums the same thing and I'll say it here. Giving everyone access to content they may not of had is a good thing. It may seem bad for you because now you have more competition in farming materials to make gold but they have opened the game up for new players. They have made the game fun for people who haven't been playing for the past couple of years.

I'm very new to this game. I may of bought it over a year ago but I have recently just started actually playing it because before. It was too hard for a new player to get any where. No one wanted to help me and it was so freaking hard to solo anything back then. Heck, i'm still having issues getting a dungeon quest done because no one does that dungeon. There are no low level items for sale on the auction house because there are very few actual new players and it's just people with alts.

Do you want the game to die? Because blocking out new players from enjoying themselves is how games die. World of Warcraft has made that game so incredibly easy that anyone can buy the game tomorrow and install it and then be good at it. That's what I call "Curb appeal" in a game. You want people to come over and have fun! You don't have to see this as a bad thing, but you can embrace it that you can make new friends. Trust me, we'd love to have help from someone like you. I don't know wtf i'm doing with my skills or stats. lol
Today is a blessing. Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow is a mystery.

Such a causal's attitude. We're only interested in hardcore vets around here. After all, I didn't just sink over £200 on my MLG cap and my rival 700 pro mouse and keyboard to have Craglorn opened up to all the filthy causal's. Though I won't be using it, I'll be buying my very own PS4 'pro' because the inclusion of the term 'pro' is worth the outlay alone. I'm such a gaming badass, so bow before my greatness!

all max writs are turned in at Belkarth now. That's why craglorn is so crowded. It used to be ghost town yeah. Not anymore. If you venture around, I have found every freaking place is crowded now. People are constantly farming dolmens, public dungeons, lorebooks and skyshard hunting. I've no idea how some people think the player base is dwindling......there's even people hanging around Eyevea. I don't know why?

This message is directed to ZOS.
I've been an ESO Plus member since may of 2014 and I'm very disappointed in the direction the game has, and is, taken. I've
talked to many veteran members and most are not happy either. Take Craglorn for instance, it used to be a privilege, after
working your way up to veteran rank, to go there. Now every Tom, ***, & Harry can go, and believe me their there.

I've been playing since beta, too. Craglorn was the dead end of vet levelling, a stupid wall of unbeatable enemies. Months of grinding VR11-14 to get past it, and I was only able to complete a couple of the quest hubs because grouping with anyone with even slightly different quest progress was impossible.

Now you can actually do the Craglorn quests. Now you can go anywhere in the world and get decent XP and GP. I'm swimming in cash and gear because delves & dolmens in even "lowbie" zones are worth doing.

If the lol button was still a thing - and if the OP has been around the forum for as long as some of us have, he would know about - he would have gotten a ton of lols... so there's that.

But it is unpleasant to think that some people who share the game's environment with the rest of us actually would want to keep new players out of some areas because of "privilege".

I'll just make an effort to be extra nice to new players, to even things out :)
