

I am surprised that ZOS did not make a bigger deal out of these. I had to figure this out as I noticed this NPC with the name Navigator on it and checked out what they did.
It is nice to have another more realistic travel method (even though no time passes but I can understand why being an MMO)

Unfortunately they didn't bite on that oneRegarding "travelling to other alliances", something that cropped up in another thread is that it is not clear how you do this, as the new Navigator NPCs are not promoted. This could be addressed with a pop-up box you see on first logging in to an existing character:
Welcome to One Tamriel!
Alliance restrictions have been lifted, and you are now able to travel to any zone in Tamriel!
This update opens up the world of Tamriel for you to explore any time, and play with your friends no matter what level you are. To travel to other zones, speak to the new Navigator NPCs, located in the main city of each zone. Navigators can be identified on city maps with the following icons:
