One thing that I found works a bit better is using a lightning staff instead of inferno so even when they dodge roll and have shuffle up to passively dodge attacks, you're still able to do a lightning heavy. Then it's just a matter of waiting until their health is low enough to do a meteor + agony combo.
As a side note to your idea with light armor increasing dot damage: I'm not sure either tbh, but I can't see mdks getting some love being too big of a problem.
Agree 100%, I can survive with my shields, but I rarely have enough sustain+burst to finish the stam meta off. The lightning staff helps, but for those in black rose with reflect/s&b I usually just bail because it's not worth my time. It's the reason I switched to just ganking.Stoopid_Nwah wrote: »In general it's rough as a ranged magnb to kill good players running the meta builds. You bring up some good points.
I also think it is completely unfair that as a ranged mageblade our main damage dealing spell funnel/swallow is constantly dodged or reflected due to the meta. ZOS really needs to rework shuffle and the dodge window to make other builds more competitive. Because right now I do a combination of funnel health, cripple, agony, lotus fan, fear, and refreshing paths and the result is nowhere near close to what the meta can do. It's like beating my head against the wall. I just can't get these guys down in a 1v1 situation. The dots are absorbed and out healed and main damaged is dodged while their burst keeps putting me in the defensive. I don't think nightblade dots and funnel/swallow provide enough bang for the buck in today's meta.

It sucks because I really don't want to switch over to a stam build. I wish they'd just remove major evasion from PVP already.
