Yeah... magsorc here. Learn how to CC and pressure your opponents. Good players will drain my stamina pool, then time a good CC and burst me down. Bad players will just beat against my moderate strength shields in vain while I pound them into the dirt.

Stam players have no issues taking down magSorcs if they know how to. They should use a lot of stuns up to the point our little stamina pool is drained, by then we can't escape the stuns anymore. Do you know what this means? That we can not pull up shields anymore and it's over and out for us if you burst some damage (17k unprotected health doesn't really sustain that long).

As a DK opposing a Sorc, just use defensive stance and wings to reflect and deflect projectiles. Works very effectively.

What you shouldn't do is allow sorcs to move about freely, pulling up their shields casually and being virtually undefeatable. Play clever and every class can be defeated!

Kinda agree as i am a magicka and alot of magic v magic duels i have is just a sorc or dk soamming sheilds till the run away and forfiet because we have infinity magic and they are stuck on defensive. BUT i dont feel for you because you are probably mad that all your procs arent oneshotting

Think you are living in the past mate, it's all about those 1 shot proc sets atm.

i constantly play as a magDK and they are def NOT "OP"... and they can't keep shields up the whole time.... fun as hell to play... but are def a challenge to play as one in PvP

Man, I must be really doing it wrong. Bosmer magicka nightblade! My healing ward and harness magicka are 3k strong! Either I just suck, or my build is gimpy, because I don't do any one shotting like some of the stamina users I see do. I think I have fought some of these unkillable builds, but it's hard to tell if it's their build, or it's my skill. It might be easier to blame those builds. Then again, I don't mind dying as much as I do, I always see the current meta as a challenge to overcome with the playstyle that I enjoy. I've thought about adopting one of those OP builds, but if it's nerfed I doubt I'll ever get that 'high' back of being on god mode. Like, in the same way turning god mode on in skyrim; when everything is too easy to kill, you lose interest!

Am i rambling? Hopefully someone can make sense of this.

At the end of the day, if there was one thing I would like to complain about, it would be PvP gameplay as a whole. I feel like no matter which class I play, there are only two ways to play, all burst damage, or all defense. The defensive builds seem too easy to manage, and the burst builds are like a fighting game, where if you hit a certain combo of buttons in just the right order, and at the right times, you win. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, iunno, sometimes I don't think I understand how this game works, it's sloppy.

This all makes me miss the balance of having a class system, with inherent traits that cannot be changed after character creation. Where,

• stealthers are: higher in tools, critical damage, movement and evasion, but lower in sustained damage, health, and defense
• MeleeDPS are: higher sustained damage, lower in crit damage, but moderate in defense, tools, movement evasion and health
• mages are: higher in critical damage, sustained damage but lower in health, defense, and evasion, while moderate in tools and movement
• tanks are: higher in defense, evasion/block, and health, but lower in critical damage, sustained damage, while moderate in tools and movement
• Then healers are a combination of tank/mage
• hybrids are a combination of mage/stealther/melee

Each class should vary just a little more than another in that spectrum from one class to another.

However, the way it is in ESO, you seem to only have a couple of options...

All players are either:

• Mage/Stealther/MeleeDPS/Hybrids: higher in crit damage, sustained dps, tools, and movement, but moderate health and evasion, while lower in healing
• Healer/Tanks/Some Mages: Higher in defense, tools, healing, and movement, but moderate sustained dps, while lower crit dps.

All of this can make for some really drab gameplay, making buffs and nerfs much more pronounced, because when the game is changed/adjusted, the changes tend to affect everyone or at least half of the population in some significant way. It's cyclical, too. Almost predictable.

But, who knows! This could be a really great way to give the appearance that the game is evolving, when instead it's revolving around changes of the same magnitude, just by different names each time. It's like these changes are a seesaw, where there's balance, but it's a fluctuating balance that's more beneficial to profits than it is to game play. I don't mean to be paranoid, but maybe in three months we will see stamina get nerfed, and magicka get buffed. Or maybe just the most OP stuff get nerfed, and other stuff get buffed to being OP, etc..

Then again, if we could just get soft caps back again, they could serve as the nerfs the devs make before they're even necessary - try to make an OP build? Nope, too bad! Soft caps gotchYa! Maybe ZOS is letting these hard caps stick around so that the community can see just how screwy it is to have them.

Actually, my main Sorc shield can pop for 20k so wrong numbers.

And also, magDK? GTFOH, stam classes are OP is PvP friend. Rock shield-breaker if you're going to be a complainer.
