Players with Cross faction attitudes have the wrong spirit for 3 faction PvP

So you think that people shouldnt do anything in cyrodiil with players from other factions? No dolmens, no bosses, no quests, no arena in IC... ?

I am pretty sure that also in irl people may ally with "enemies" against greater danger. So why not in game?

You make no sense, why would you release a game that follows design principles of 3 faction PvP when the target group prefers to play side by side with enemies?

Beside that ZOS said "One Tamriel" has no impact on Cyrodiil and this is not true either because with One Tamriel we all make more cross faction friends while playing PvE and this will increase the hopper rate in Cyrodiil too.

    "You make no sense" :Dd
How does it affect on PvP if you do quests in cyrodiil with players from other factions? It doesnt! Will it give it you AP? No! So whats the problem with that?

Farming ap/ helping enemies on keeps is different, but doing pve content in cyrodiil with other factions is allright.

You can turn and twist the facts as much as you like, you are still confirming that "One Tamriel" does have impact on Cyrodiil.

Btw. in one of your other threads you said that you were asking an enemy Emp per /whisper if he would let you kill him just to get the achievement ... Here we go again, players like you proved once again that they would do anything even if the method of achievement was not intentional by game design ...

I never said "One tamriel" wont affect cyrodiil. Cause I know it will.

And you think I care about achievements? The thread I made were supposed to be entertaining story(like most people got it), not the tip to get achievement. :)

Imagine if tomorrow ZOS announced a "you can only play on one faction ever between all of your characters" rule for PvP in response to this. It's what he wants, and it would destroy PvP.

You should learn to read instead making assumptions.
Nobody said you can only play on one faction but ZOS needs to discuss better solutions to improve choice of campaign.

If anyone likes to play the same campaign on the same account with a different faction he can make his decision on every campaign reset. But faction hopping during campaign runtime is not really a good design for 3 faction PvP because of the cross faction aspects.

Achieves the same difference, you're just mincing words. People would just go zerg on whatever campaign their faction is winning. Being able to play on multiple campaigns actually helps campaign balance more than it hurts.

As for hopping into keeps, people do that using pugs more often than friends. Regardless, it's an unflagged keep. Alert your faction, kill the dudes, collect d tick, gg.

Revealing stealth troops? Eh, full stealth is stupid anyway. "Hey look, there are 15 heavily armed soldiers fully invisible on this grassy incline 20 feet to your right!" Pugs also reveal people by accident all the time. Are they spies? Who do we execute for this treachery?! Using stealth is rewarding, so it should also be risky. If being revealed by an ally dooms you, then so would a wayward aoe. You took a risk. Be more careful.

TLDR: get good. The fact that the game is cross-faction adds a whole lot more of a social dimension and a whole lot more to campaign balance that it takes away. Embrace it. Winning the campaign doesn't even matter unless you make so little AP that you need those repair kits.

As players we cannot balance the underlaying system, so it doesn't really matter how hard you try as a weak or strong faction
because actually you are fighting against a system that supports hopping at any time.
The scores are close on competitive campaigns too, so what's it even changing?

Competitive PvP needs specific rules, or you cannot play competitive PvP when hopping to any other faction is allowed during campaign runtime. In sports you cannot just switch teams whenever you like during a season either.

I don't understand your first bit.

Regarding your second bit, our only relevant score system is an AP leaderboard which records AP earned per character. If you play on a character on another faction, you are splitting time between multiple characters while other players commit to single characters. You'll inevitably fall behind them and not make it to playoffs, to follow the sports analogy.

Rewards for a faction winning the campaign itself are minuscule, basically a participation trophy, and do not constitute a competitive incentive.

This is where our opinions will likely diverge, but until ZOS gives us more reason to care about winning the campaign, the only incentive to win it is warm fuzzies. Warm fuzzies simply aren't a justifiable reason to lock down the entire social structure of the game.

I suggest you start vying for greater campaign victory rewards if you want that to happen.

Some people only care about their own ap gain. Some care about faction/campaign goal over personal achievement. And there are some that just wanna have fun with their friend.

It's been that way and there's no point or too late to force restrictions. I personally hate faction switches but that's that. Everyone has different motives to play pvp.

The problem has never been people switching to the losing team to rebalance things . The problem is hardly anyone uses the mechanics for that purpose . If we had dynamic population caps , that need would not be there anyways . When they add dueling and arenas , that would solve the issues for those gamers then and ai will hope they go back and reimplement the old system with a floating cap . One with open enough starting to not close down low pop campaigns . I really think it would be nice to have the Devs put competition back into campaigns .

Just accept the fact that there are people who just want good fights and don't give a *** about campaigns and scores and roleplaying faction purists.

if you dont care about the campaign and score, go to a non-***-competitive campaign.

TL;DR: I suck at PvP so blame spies.

He didn't mention skill or dying or losing let alone complain about it. His post is ulitmatly about faction pride and attitude to faction PVP games. It's something lacking in modern PVP MMOs, something that's been noticed by some of the new PVP MMOs to come out soon.

"Boo hoo real life war doesn't have spies and alliances, so we shouldn't either. I want to play ESO in a vacuum."

There is nothing wrong with Spies, information wins wars but in real life (and you drew that analogy) there are dangers to challenges to being a spy.

As someone that has actaully seen war, this ISN'T war, it's a multiplayer game. Logging onto your another faction and picking up their scroll isn't really in the spirit of that game.

In the end, campaigns are balanced by experienced guild groups who decide to go fight against Zerg X or Strong Team Y on a campaign that dominates said campaign otherwise mainly against 1) 7 people who still log onto that campaign and get gatecamped 2) large groups of pugs that cannot get anything done due to 85% of them using bows and having no healing aside from the occasional Vigor when remembered 3) a mixed group of a few experienced players + bow randoms.

Sure, I guess there are those who love to play on the winning side, but from what I've increasingly observed in the past year on PC EU is that the very experienced PvPers, the ones who do have the power to change a one-sided campaign to a proper multifaction campaign, are the ones that are not "faction-loyal". They do not need spies, they don't want to be spies, they want to win due to their skill. They're in for the outnumbered play because nothing is more fun in PvP than winning outnumbered. At the same time they balance the campaigns. Win-win.

Adapt or die..... or in this case ...if you cant beat them, join them ....appears to be the only solution.
Make an ALT and troll your most hated faction mercilessly

    1T gave us ..
    Faction specific costumes.
    PvP Dueling in PvE zones.
Mixed faction zones in the middle of a 3 way war.

    Basically ZOS said,
heres some toilet tissue, vaseline, a pack of condoms and a hand grenade......go play.

It irked me immensely when ZOS first trashed faction loyalty after turning a blind eye to all the shenanigans.
But then I remembered that ZOS does not judge right or wrong.
They simply allow us.... 'to be'.

I am still trying to establish if that is accidental or intentional though ...lmao.
Embrace your inner troll...its what ZOS wants.
