Value of Halloween items now vs Value of items post event

So, for each level of recipe (Green, Blue, Purple and Gold), one chapter of the Hollojack style, the full Hollowjack set, Amber Marble, and each mask; I'd like to know how much each is currently worth now, plus how much the prices might go up when the event ends.

i have seen a number of msg's in chat offering lists of event stuff free to anyone who wants it. so the answer to your question is currently - not much.

future value? really hard to say. the marble may rise in price if people want to continue making the sets. is that likely to happen? idk but i doubt it.

if you are a completest for stuff, like me, you will have taken advantage of the festival to get the stuff - so not much of a market there.

it may be worth hanging on to some of the bits for a while to see if prices rise but i doubt anyone will make much from it.

There's that many of the green/blue purple recipes, and the motifs that I can't see them rising much for quite some time... and even when they do I doubt you're exactly going to get rich off it.

The yellow recipe... may rise a bit, but its a pretty useless item unless you're a vamp so again, can't see an overwhelming demand beyond a few vamps & completionists...

The hat runeboxes however may be a different matter...

Runboxes should be ok a few months after the event ends. Might be able to make good bit of profit, i have 2 pumpkin masks on another character, just have to wait and see. If you find the full hallowjack book that will be worth somthing. Ive only seen 3 full books this entire event.

Well twice born star is still pretty much best in slot for basically all DPS builds.... and as the majority of people in the game are DPS I'd say there's quite a lot of demand there actually!

Then again... that's just one set. If it gets surpassed properly by something else then I'd be inclined to agree with you.

The prices that u might b thinking will b too high for the ones who for those who aren't playing at this time. Face it its not hard to get them. I have the complete motif and all recipes on all 12 of my toons, over 1200 marbles, and have given away 7 of the masks. The chances that a person that has the gold to pay outrageous prices u will want have not already gotten it already is astronomical.
I would hold on to the marbles (if u have the crafting bag) and the masks. The room in ur inventory wont b worth what ull get from the motif pages or recipes.

The only things I'm keeping and I think are worth the storage space are the masks. I can't give away the motifs nor the recipes. They're currently trash. don't get me wrong, you'll get the odd person that's willing to spend 300g on one of the motif pieces, but that's obviously someone who can't be bothered farming them whatsoever. That said, there will be people who are currently on a hiatus from the game and when/if they return they''ll want the motifs if that's their thing.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I don't think the gold recipe is actually that good. There's a lot better out there in the lesser colours.

Mmm well maybe some people just doesnt follow meta builds and use these "best in slot" gears. Maybe they play the way they like and understand that meaning of playing games is not to be the best, meaning is to enjoy the game.

I expect the value will go up after the event, but I don't expect it to go up astronomically. It might be worth selling in a few months, or after the next big DLC if that draws significant numbers of people back.

Value now $0, Value in the future $0 except for gold masks.

Personally I don't think the motif will be super popular to cause others to use up the existing marbles they've collected and there are so many motifs out there now I doubt the value will change much in the immediate future (maybe far down the road if it never gets re-released and people hold onto it for that long). The gold and one purple recipe might gain a little value (gold one just for completion sakes, but not because it's worth using). The gold motif is probably best to hold onto for the future if you get it b/c it takes up no room vs holding 14 pages in your bank separately and someone coming to the game in the future could pick up the whole style in one read.

Expect them to go up in value about 3-6 months from now when newer players are jumping in the game for the first time and cant actually farm it.

At the minute the only things that are worth anything are the masks, the rest are difficult to give away.

I think most people playing now that are bothered about getting the masks will either get them as drops themselves or will buy them before the end of the event.

That's going to leave a fairly small market after the event so I don't think they'll go for much more than they currently do.

Any spare gold items I get I'll probably keep to see if I can make anything on them (doubt I'll have many so it's not going to take up much room), though saying that I've already given a spare pumpkin mask away for free.

If history tells me one thing, USEABLE items increase the most in price after unobtainability;

After Guard Scrolls were removed from PVP for instance, I sought at as many as I could attain; I gathered around 30 scrolls (and had spent ~ 200k gold - which was a lot back then / after one tamriel and tamriel unlimited septim inflation, probably like 2m worth of gold)

I've sold 26 of them to date, for prices ranging from 500k-2m;

I have 4 left which I sell in Wayrest guild stores for 1m;

They sell all the time which is good, but the quantity of gold I have made from these discontinued items is ridiculous.

The masks will drop again next year, but you could probably expect around 300k at least in 6 months; so if you spend 300k on them now, attain 10 of them; in 6 months you'd have made 3m

Four items that would be worth anything:

Pumpkin runebox
Scarecrow Runebox
Yellow recipe
The hollowjack motif book

They will only be worth something to the people that missed the event. So maybe summer of this next year when people are unable to even get them, and most of the extra runeboxes/recipes are gone, you can then set a price similar to, if not higher than day one pricing.

The only variable really is the amount of people that either missed the event, or newer players that recently joined that have enough gold or have the want/need to collect them.

Style item might be worth something later - but the long-term point of the entire motif to encourage the purchase of mimic stones anyway. Following the same logic, the style itself will be in the crown store soon, polymorphs probably too.

The only really interesting recipe (for magicka characters) is the max health + max magicka + magicka regen drink. But not enough to take up inventory space for weeks or months. I'll sell the drinks later if people want/need them.

Bottom line : don't keep anything...

After hundreds of skulls without a Pumpkin mask, I finally broke down and bought one for 45K (NA PC). Then last night, I of course got one. Oh well, will hang onto it and see if prices go up in a couple months.

And dropped sets vs. crafted sets perceived values also depend on whether the person participates in "end-game" or not.

I myself never run "end game" content. I don't do Trials, Undaunted pledges, or even Group Dungeons. I play primarily Solo (by choice and circumstance), and even when I do Group with someone, it's usually my wife and only my wife. So two people are not enough to tackle any of the "end game" content.

Thus; we much prefer a well-crafted Crafted Set, and we don't get involved in the current "Meta builds/race to the top". So Motifs and Crafted Sets are far more important to us than what will ever drop in one of the Group Dungeons, Trials, or even the Arena's.

So for us (and anyone who plays like my wife and I do), @Ghettokid , none of the dropped sets means anything to us, but what we can craft at various locals out in the wild means everything to us.

Just funny how some players will tell you their guilds are hoarding hundreds and that is why they will be worthless... So why are they hoarding hundreds? Smh...

Each item will show different gain over time. The Marble for sure will increase in value right after the event as well as the obvious masks. And over time, these items will increase to a certain thresh hold where they will sit.

The motifs and recipes could take much longer. Six months? Is the game even going to be here in that long? Is the planet? And will this event happen again next year? I suspect new players during the summer will pay between 50-100k for the entire motif collection, and then another 50-100k for maybe 100 marbles. For the masks at that time, they might be auctioned at anywhere between 400k-1mil... But we are talking next summer. It's a long term investment.

And if you are playing this game until then, you probably already made over 10 million at least in pure profits.

The purple magicka recipe is the only thing, short of the masks, that will have any value post-event. And then only for people who either weren't subscribed at the time for whatever reason, or who join the game after November 1st.

Everything else is worthless, or next to it.

Well unless someone did the halloween event themselves they can learn the style but not craft it.

But motif's = 0
Recipes = 0

Masks are around 20k and dropping on ps4 eu.
