I really don't know why people dislike the LFG tool

I needed to do ICP and couldn't find anyone in zone chat, so I decided to bite the bullet and try the LFG tool, even after all the horror stories.

30 minutes later I finally receive a group and port in. Not 5 seconds later this pops up

And now I'm back in the queue. Honestly, it's not so bad guys. Learn to love it.

Oh brilliant! Because the group was disbanded before it even began I have to wait for my queue cooldown before I can queue for another 30 minutes.
This is top notch ZOS. I really love this system so far. It totally hasn't wasted my time, nor has it been a frustrating experience.

Because ICP shouldn't be one of the possible dungeons you get if you queue for the daily random. I don't blame people for leaving it when they see it's the one they were randomly put in because PUGs fail it more often than not.

If you could only get it by picking it specifically you'd get people from the LFG tool who actually want to be there.

The way it is now, even if you pick it specifically, chances are the other 3 didn't.

Consider yourself lucky, you could have had to run vICP with pugs....a fate worse than death.

I dislike the tool, because of the people I get paired with 9x out of 10. I'd rather do things on my own, than get paired with either: 1. People who want to be carried. 2. People who refuse to learn mechanics, and get angry when mechanics are explained. 3. People who claim they are only looking for those using meta builds and top of the line gear, but they themselves have their roles set to a tank — but use a destruction staff on front bar, with bow on back bar. No thanks.

Then again, outside of performance of the people I get paired with... I get paired with people who blast music in the background, and or love to have their microphones next to them as they take hits from a bong. Then they kick you, and tell you it was because you left the group chat.

Lol sounds like someone had a bad time. I haven't even managed to get that far. The group just keeps disbanding the second we port in. I'm like, so done with it

ZOS, could we have something like LFM in DDO ? There grouping is completely community-driven and visible. There group leaders put up LFMs that all can see. There is e.g. a comment field to write something like "vWGT HM pledge fastrun". For some strange reason only very good players request joining that kind of LFM. Besides group leader can see who are requesting to join, and they can select!

This is not just elitist jerking. There were regularly both "elite fastrun" and "learning run for newbies". One of my fondest memories was when i responded to an LFM that was something like "Frolicking in Sschindyllryn, we are stoned, LF1M, BYOH cause we cant". (BYOH = Bring Your Own Heals.) I ended up running a whole week with them.

Now in ESO i think i'll not use LFG another year more.

Aaaa llloootttt has changed in the game AND the tool.

Randomly you may have a good experience and then some bad ones.
Do one random 5 days a week for a month and report back and let's see how your thoughts will adjust

Its not the queue its self. Its the:

-guy who queues as tank and dies in one shot wih not one taunt on his bar
-guy who queues as healer and doesnt heal or has one heal on their bar (looking at you templars)
-guy who cant break 10k dps because hes a magicka archer with pets and the bosses last forever because youre the only decent dps...

    The list really goes on.

Ways to fix the group finder. (Concurrent, or consecutive.)

    1. Require people queueing to meet certain requirements like in WoW. A test. Of DPS, of situational awareness, or of ability to keep something alive.

    2. Give an option to look for high level players only at max CP.

    3. Increase restrictions for it''s use.

And until any or all of these happen I probably will never use it ever again.

We just ran normal Mazzatun tonight. Healer (me) and two dps from the guild; neither had run the dungeon before so this was to teach mechanics. None of our tanks were online, so we queued for a random one and got a lvl 47.

He was still learning tanking on that character, but was effective enough for our purposes. This is not to complain about him, but more to marvel at the comments he made afterwards.

According to him, we were a very organized group of high dps elites. He said he had a hard time believing that this was the first run for one of us, and was floored when he learned neither dps had done it before. He was very excited we "let" his non-vet tank run with us.

I was floored, to be honest. One dps was relearning his rotation after a four month break, and the other was wearing a mismatched collection of questing drops while trying to figure out whether she wanted to be a dps or a healer. It makes me wonder at my luck using the finder, I don't have horror stories nearly as bad as others, if our mismatched training group is considered an elite PUG group.

Why be normal when you can be better?

    Lady Kalila, Stamina Templar DPS

It's not that 1 player sucks that makes pugs a terrible experience it's that group that has nothing going for them.
The tank is dying a ton, bcz he can't absorb damage well and has no mic
The dps stand in red, don't avoid any damage comming their way, don't put out a ton of damage and of course have no mic.

    Neither knows the dungeons mechanics.

Then I get dropped into that half completed dungeon as a healer. The last healer left bcz the group was hopeless.

I can keep people alive for a long time but if your not trying to avoid any in comming damage, it's just not something any healer can keep up with.

it's not always the case that it turns bad , i've had GFtool runs that were speed run's and others were difficult with some wipes but finished .

in random lfg tool it's another story , people tend to freak out for some difficult dungeons and just leave or disband the group .
I can understand that , if you're low level then a WGT run isn't a good idea

i did ICp today with a cp 480 friend and me 310 cp in random dungeon runs with a 3rd friend who levels his
new toon (lvl 20 ish) and got true it with only 3 wipes , 2 at the last boss but had like 4 other guys pugging with us leaving without a fight and others after dying once . They should have stayed , many people abandon to fast ..

To be honest....reading some of the responses....those folks just don't need to ever use the tool.

What i mean is if your expectation of a "random" or a "activity finder specific" requires a min DPS, min healing or min tank abilities and or player skill, you need not ever use thebactivity finder. You are also who are making it bad as you're likely to vote to kick or abandon the group.

A lot of times while it can be frustrating at first, if you communicate with ppl, they are willing to work together. I'm not saying communicate to tell them how you want them to play their character but to talk and see if you can change things that may offset something and see if they'd adjust with you.

There are situations where ppl need to be kicked and when it's best to just leave especially when ppl won't talk or type when there's a potential issue or opportunity. Just that it's not a speed run or a "I don't have time for this" Finder. Those requests beg to manually form a group in my observations.
