Hey there,

I've been playing this game for a few days now, but today I ran into a Fatal Error just before starting the game. I run the launcher from my Steam library using the "Add A Non-Steam Game" button. However, right after I hit the "PLAY" button, this is what the game tells me:

Please, I'm not very good when it comes to troubleshooting stuff. What has happend to my game, and how can I fix it?

    If I redownload the game, is my character going to disappear?

    Your characters will be just fine.

    But, bypass Steam first to isolate the issue. Try to launch the game direct, find the ESO64.exe in

    C:/Program Files (x86)/Zenimax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online/

    And see if the game launches. If so, then you don't need to repair it. If not, try the repair function first, then see if it launches directly.

    BTW, there is no need to launch from Steam, it does not really do anything for the game. It might let your Steam friends know what you are playing, but that is about it.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    I'm going to factory restore my Windows copy, because my PC has been acting strange anyways.

    Will get back to you tomorrow evening with an update.

    Update!

    My game is now working again, I reinstalled the game and everything is OK. No other changes were made to my PC.
