Restyle gear to any known motif?

Its been said before

Convert any peice of gear except undaunted boss peices into any motif known by the character. As well as bind the gear to the player to prevent gold hiking prices on the abysmally small pool of still sellable gear in one tamriel. This would give motifs value still along side one tamriel's favoring of dropped vs crafting sets.
As right now both hallow jack and grim harlequinn seem pointless and lost in the one tamriel as well as the new life motif seems like a waste since we can't restyle...

And to you ZOS don't expect much in sales for crown exclusive motifs if we have no use for them since dropped gear os still favored.. its like I'm gonna buy a New car but not drive it...

    FEATURE REQUEST:
    - consume 20 style components to reshape armor into the new style (if motiff is known)

    Why?
I currently have an addon (dustman) that destroys ALL style vanilla style components and useless trait stones (training trait stones etc)

It's not just that. We need to be able to fully USE the motifs. Some change with character level which has flummoxed me since the beginning. Let me choose which version of any motif I want regardless of level.

They've done away with levels. Now do away with motifs based on levels.

    Please.

Go farm your *** materials and craft that damn armor yourself. If this keeps up we will just log in, BOOM, max CP character, all motifs, all materials, 350 skill points. Don't like your armor? Just [SNIP] it to another motif. Don't like your skill point choices? Here, have a free re-specc kid meal.

What are you doing guys? What are you actually doing to this game?
I for one prefer PLAYING when I actually play, but I don't know about you guys.

There is and should ONLY BE ONE way of doing this, and that is if you own Imperial edition and you can change items to Imperial motif. Anything else is just blatantly stupid and will ruin the economy of this game.

Unless you're an ingame milionaire, making crafting/motif choices should be hard. Think, plan and commit.

It would be amazing.. It's really to expensive to craft gold gear every time you learm some new motif or just want to change it. I know almost all motives, but i have to wear costumes, because some peaces of drop sets i don't like...Also trait changing is needed. Because with the last patch crafters are almost useless...

Nothing in your reply is remotely relevant...

You can't imperial convert anything dropped except crafted.

One tamriel killed crafting so there's no option to use motifs on anything but inferior crafted gear that will be left in the dust by dropped gear.

Its a game all games are casual no need to be a ****

And converting gear WE CAN NOT CRAFT has nothing to do with casual playing it just means the game has bad customizing options.

I actually really like this idea and I dont honestly see how in any way it would upset someone. Its basically just another form of what most MMO's already have which is appearance slots. Crafted Gear is junk compared to dropped now there are just soo many better options.

Just make an option when you restyle your stuff, this will link it to your account. This solve any deviance for gold making.

It's just an option to restyle your equipment to something you like, you are spending so many time with your character, so you need to enjoy looking at it. This is nothing relating to casual or so, don't mix up everything, you are getting wrong. Every MMO has system like this, and casual gamer love this feature...

I answered no to the generality of "Gear".

However, restyling gear that YOU made is something I can definitely get behind.

I think it would be pretty cool to have someone I crafted a set for come back to me whenever that person wanted a restyle. Kind of like having a tailor you always return to for having the suit, that he/she tailored for you, let out or taken in. I think it would encourage more socializing and possibly better relationships between crafters and their clients.

But, I suspect costumes sales would go down, and ZoS needs to get paid.

it's fluff - fluff is available on crown store - add it as a crown-costing option

Traits however are a different story - those should be ground out the hard way.

We have so many dropped items now. I really wish this was an option, now more than ever.

I would say yes, but only for crafted gears -AND- if the player changing the style has all the knowledge to create that set from scratch.

Think about, if you paid some dedicated cafter to make your gear you (player) 1) don't give a damn about being a crafter 2) don't have enough knowledge for a set (yet).

Lore-wise means you don't fully understand the racial culture, like why one has flaps and why other has squared hats, so how will YOU be able to undo someone else's work to change the structure of the gear?

Specially because of the gold sink prevention which would force only you to change the style of your own gear.

Dropped sets on the same way, at least theoretically, has a reason for being created with a specific style. If something is related to Blackmarsh history, it can't exist styled as... let's say... Dwemer.

i would prefer it if i could change the motif of my dropped gear, since i can't craft dungeon/trial/pvp gear-> they look terrible sometimes -> everybody and their mother have the same appearance -> farming/buying motifs is a total waste since dropped gear outperform craftet in -> almost <- every szenario.
    that is why.
so all that motfis right now are just for carebears that are doing their shiny little quests for the first time, craft some gear for around 2 hours before they outleveld and well what then... go get some drop sets and never ever use motifs again.
    better make that things changable

Yep, my crafter is feeling kinda useless lately. She knows so many motifs, but what for? My characters will dress in rags instead, because they make them more powerful than the beautiful garments my crafter can make :unamused:

Now that ZOS is selling Crown Exclusive Motifs, they should really think about letting we actually use them.

By the way, if it used Mimic Stones to change the style of existing gear, I bet they would sell much more of these.
