Armor Style Conversion

i'm sure that someone, somewhere has said this before but I think any style you have stones for and the motifs you should be able to convert dropped gear, special gear ( Master Weapons) and dungeon content just like you can convert to Imperial with any regular crafted gear.
No offense to any Argonians out there but that style is just hideous, there is nothing like having all this nice armor and you have to put on a dropped set like Elfbane or Viper and look as if you're wearing flipflops with heavy armor.
Pllleeeeeeaaaaase make this a thing?

^ This... I so agree with you xD Btw... As you say I think it would be easy to do, after all It can be done with imperial style , why not to use it or something similar with other styles? Please @ZOS_GinaBruno tell the devs about it and you'll make us happy lol

This is interesting, not because it is insightful & that I agree with this but because I always thought they could put in a style conversion system that would actually use X5 or even X10 the amount of style materials needed to do the conversion to a particular style, but it could be a special thing for ESO Plus members, like what they did with dyeing costumes & hats (speaking of hats, I ended up with a legendary runebox containing a scarecrow spectre hat when I was going through my plunder skulls yesterday.)
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I'd happily pay for it in the dam crown store if need be, just let my master crafter change the look, how hard can it be?

They copuld most likely add it easily enough, it just would take them some coding time. Maybe someday they will, it would make a nifty perk for those who get their crafting skills to 50... they could then remove the "cvonvert to imnperial" function entirely, and add an style recrafting section to every crafting station, allow characters to recraft stuff to their racial style without restriction, and then let every character who gets to the master crafter level recraft gear to any learned style (it certainly would also make the crown store style books and mimic stones more attractive, wouldn't it? Thus more profit for their pockets...)

    Yep, they did.

Just hope they turn around on that one because its highly needed, why bother buying their crown store motifs anyway, all the sets I want to wear/use are draugr.

I see at least three threads like this every day. I don't mean it in a bad way, because I too, for a long time, was an advocate of a transmog or restyle system in the game. It wasn't until the AMA, where the devs said that they had no plans for it, that I accepted that ZOS just isn't going to do something that involves a lot of coder time and doesn't generate profit for them directly.

In fact, this system would probably hurt their profit, since many people use costumes because armor looks like crap (usually forced into heavy chest pieces and monster pieces, for example). It's as simple as that! Housing, by nature, if a very 'cosmetic' mmorpg feature, and it will, therefore, generate revenues directly or indirectly. Furniture has already been data-mined for the crown store, even if the basic essentials seem to be craftable and purchaseable in gold.

I think people understand this intuitively, which is why many have resorted to suggesting that they'd be willing for it to be tied to the crown store if need me. This sucks, because it's such a fundamental feature that I can't believe we don't have or will be getting it. There are so many amazing styles, delicately designed by a team, and they're just books collecting dust in crafter's archives.

*I wish that ZOS would set aside the revenue from the crown store exclusive motifs and use that money to develop a system like this for crafters. As it stands, crafters are pretty forgotten community. In most builds, drop gear plays a more essential role than crafted gear. So our already high risk business is now even less demanded.

Really it just seems like wasted effort on their part by them not introducing it. All those man hours put into designing various styles of craftible items and the entire progression of crafting, not to mention the mimic stones, and it goes down the toilet because we gravitate toward concrete set item styles. Think of how many more people would invest in motifs from the store or mimic stones were they able to convert the Dragon set from Nordic to Glass or Minotaur style, to anything else after at will.

There's no motivation for me as a player to bother learning motifs anymore because there's no way for me to truly customize the way I look without fully committing to crafted sets and possibly gimping myself in the process.

This makes me sad everyday that I log on that this isn't an option. It seems like such a simple change, and it would make SOOOO many people so darn happy. I have all these motifs and can't use them and look like I want because I need to also be able to play.

I <3 the costumes in the crown store, and have purchased many of them, but I'd also like the option to make my actual armor look exactly like I want it to.

I really want a system to change the style of items. I can craft all these nice styles but cannot enjoy them. They should make it like the costume dying system where you can freely do it as a subscriber or buy something from the crown store.

Yes, yes, yes .... i agree with this topic. There is too much drop sets (it is good). Drop sets are better then craft sets now. So, i must decide beetwen top gear or nice visual gear. For me is important visual of my character. I like RP etc. I don't like any costumes, but i have high level character and i want have best gear ... now, this is

Now, we can convert to imperial style. This function is here in game. Is it really dificult Implement convert to other style?
    Can u answer ZOS? Thanks.

Crafter here with 9 traits and every motif in game at the moment.
I feel like I've wasted a huge amount of time and gold on skills that are approaching redundancy now, with how easy it is to get drop sets. Everything is so easy to get now; I think Zos needs to breathe some life into crafting again, or else motifs will become useless and crafting will be close to pointless.
