But I'm drawing the line here. the number of mimics is nice, and I have the crowns, but I'm not going to show zos that things like this are ok by buying into it. Grim Harlequin is going to be the one motif I don't have.

I usually agree with this and for the most part I agree with the crownstore the whole time, however a crownstore only motif is too much I think its a very manipulative tactic plus I just think its taking advantage of crafters.Have your forgotten Zenimax is a business? And at the same time, they're giving a full motif (which is pretty badass looking) out for free? Or do you just want everything for free??

I have a crafter, and every time when I help someone out by making him/her a piece of gear, it makes me happy since I like to help ppl out the best way that I can. Having access to an exclusive motif means more ppl will come to me instead since it'll make my crafter more versatile. The more ppl I can help out with my crafter, the better.
(Also, in case you're wondering, I never charge anything for my crafting. This motif isn't gonna change that)
It's that versatility that makes this motif worth it. I was having my doubts, but the 2.2k price won me over.
I wish I could say otherwise but I cant really say I am surprised how many ppl think spending $ = free.
@Tryxus it still doesnt help me in any way. I request the mats & dont charge either but WILL charge for this style if I do waste my leftover eso plus crowns. That gold will only go to my guild to get a trader for our members.
My crafter is 9 trait & only needs some akaviri motifs to know all styles excluding hallowjack. (I craft for 20+ ppl regularly) I do understand what you are trying to mean, but its still nothing more than a desperate grab for cash.

The motif was free... You paid 2200 crowns for 54 mimic stones which is a discount on their regular price.
By this logic i`ll give you a free apex mount, you just need to pay for the 10000 mimic stones i bundle it with. The package is 200$ but the mount is totally free! Good deal!
KramUzibra wrote: »"Desperate grab for cash"......? I disagree, I thinks it's smart business. There are people like me who wouldn't mind paying and appreciate the discounted mimic stones and the cheap motif.
Yes its cosmetic and not pay to win in any way.
More cosmetic stuff should be only in the crown store.
Guy buys motif. Guy sells his/her crafting services to make said motif for gold. Takes gold and buys gear.
I know it's not p2w but I wish players would give more thought as to how these things in the crown store effect the game and economy. Exclusive items bought from the crown store, with real $, that yield increased gold for the player are an issue imo. If it is obtainable in game (reasonably) then no problem.
Cosmetic items such as costumes, mounts, style parlor are different since there is no way to make gold from them.

They do.
Remember, at release, ZOS promised there would never be a cash shop. That's part of why I jumped ship from SWTOR. I used to play SWG, and I quit over the Collectible Card Game. "Real World money for In-Game items only happens in bad games," I said. Then I gave SWTOR a try, where RW money for IG items is completely out of control. I stuck around for the story, but bailed when I heard a game was coming out with TES lore and no cash shop.
They broke their promise, and I left.
But I came back because I missed it, and I saw things hadn't gotten as bad as I'd feared. The Crown Store is definitely not the atrocity that is SWTOR's Cartel Market, but the slope has definitely gotten slippier and slippier since I've been back.
Negative, motifs do not give a competitive advantage to the buyer soo zos didn't break any promises. Also real money for virtual items does not determine the quality of the game.
