Are proc sets out of control?

I think everybody should be nice to Wrobel, because all he really wants to do is improve the play of all the scrubs without the scrubs having to improve their game.

Seeing a poor StamBlade trying to a gank a unshielded Sorcerer and failing twice, but then the third time Selene procs and kills the Sorcerer, you can only be filled with a warm and fuzzy feeling of Wrobel thinking about the poor StamBlade.

That's just so nice of him!

just put sets onto a cd related scale where you cant proc an outgoing damage set side by side within 2 seconds of eachother and buff sets cant proc side by side within 2 seconds. sets keep their power but they cant burst so hard anymore.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

    No.

Stop calling for nerfs because you get wrecked in PvP. There is a PvE aspect of this game as well. No one is complaining about 20k skoria procs in pvp, that hit opponents across the map (which is hilarious by the way). Try out the new sets...there are all KINDS of builds that counter this stuff. Just realize that every time y'all start bickering on the forums about "dis OP plz nerf"; when it actually gets nerfed...the same people are bickering because there is nothing for stam/magicka users in pvp. Balance is not nerfing everything you don't like into the ground.

Ehm... no. Actually there are no counters. One can build for more survivability; that's it.

They are out of control. On the other hand medium armour is pretty much totally outclassed by heavy armour when you take proc sets out of the picture.

I agree. But neither is it allowing you to equip 3 different kind of proc sets that let you do insane burst damage simply by left-clicking a few times.

In my opinion, these new stamina proc sets are just lazy design. However, if you look at Molag Kena, that's one proc set done right. Gives you a buff, allows you to choose when it procs, but also gives you a negative counter-effect, so you can't just proc it without thought, unless you want to be out of resources in a few seconds. And if you have control over procs, that encourages skill based gameplay, as opposed to RNG that we got now. You have to think about the kind of situation you are in, whether a proc now would be beneficial or not.

Its not relevant for the subject of the poll. Anyway, you can upload videos with your console afik and you can stream on Twitch too.

Yes it does, its a build that used 2 proc sets and the video show exactly the problem with proc sets.

I know is not on console yet, but what stops anyone to make a video? And i dont even claim that Fengrush invented the build, a guildmate was runing this day 2 of patch. Like the video says, its just the normal evolution of the meta when there are sets so strong like black rose, viper and duneripper.

First, your post here actually states why you mentioned the other thread, your original did not. Thank you for clarifying.
Second, first moment data mining occured and then PTS, several players such as @psychotic13 and myself made posts about builds utilizing SnB and Tremor scale. Severals also posted pairing black rose, viper, eh, etc were made.

It's annoying Fengy fanbois post his stuff for him, it also makes less experienced players/forum goers believe Fengy to be the end all be all for this game (even though he came back from "quitting" this game because of "broken" mechanics just like these sets...but I digress)

Second console players could make current videos except we would have no real examples to provide of the new sets and game changes. Just, again, theory craft. Of course people flock to videos that show content, console user do not have this opportunity.

Oh well, though my original post was directed at the population in general and was just using your quote as an example.

Im not a "Fengrush fan", I posted the link because is the perfect perfect example of what proc sets do.

The original did, or what else can mean "Check this out, what you can do with proc builds." in a poll titled "Are proc sets out of control?" ?

    But whatever.

Has nothing to do with getting wrecked in PvP.

It has everything to do with RNG having such an imbalanced impact on the outcome of Player vs Player. The impact of these sets is so profound that you might as well call it Proc vs Proc. The game used to have higher skill level that has now been superseded by random chance outcomes.

It appears the damage scales with CP, but not with Weapon damage or max stat. Does your penetration factor into the damage output?

There so out of control it's not even funny.

Some are ok because single target and low proc chance with limited proc, like skoria, 8% only and only dots which are purged via templars/cloak etc...

Some e.g. Viper, tremor, veli, widow are just stupid.

People don't run stats anyway and just throw proc sets on tanks and have stupidly high burst.

Yep, one of the people I pvp a lot with, stated it perfectly the other day, "I'm tired of getting killed by someone's freaking armor" as his damage log showed he got hit three times in-a-row by vicious death, that's over 54k damage in an instant, how stupid is that?

Armor and weapons and jewelry are not droids or weapons systems, they should not be casting targeted and / or AoE spells at other players. Just how far don't the ludicrous rabbit hole of stupidity is Zenimax going to go anyway?

This started out to be an Elder Scrolls game, now it's turning into mech warrior, where putting on your armor is akin to climbing into your mechanized battle suit. With rocket launchers attached to our shoulders and a flamethrower and/or grenade launcher mounted to our chests. It may look like your opponent is wearing cloth armor, but the rocket launcher and grenade launcher mounted on her petite shoulders are just micro-mini in size, so you can't really see them.

Tbh I don't mind proc sets, as long as it's not 2-3 of them proccing at the same time....

Tell me, how does someone's Vicious Death light armor set even know, that some player died? First off there is no skill or siege weapon in the game that does an instant 18k AoE to all players in a 4m area, but a five piece set of light armor can?

And where in god's name did a set of light armor get a hold of the freaking rocket launcher that instantly lobs in an 18k bomb 30+ meters away, and have it land on the exact location where someone just died? How does the armor know someone died, much less exactly where the dead body is? Not to mention, the target is already dead, who designs a weapon system to hit a target that's already dead? It's dead, what are you going to do, kill it again?

No, vicious Death armor set does not proc off siege weapons. ;)

Asking for a giant trebuchet to do 18k DPS?? That's crazy talk. You can only to that kind of damage if you are wearing a hat, dress gloves, slippers, and belt made of finely woven cloth, and maybe a ring or two.
