Difficulty is a bit too high in 1T. Bought potions, only thing that helped

I can see now you're making a thread/video to highlight the apparent difficulty of regular mobs to players not taking advantage of any bonuses in game, but it's going to be flawed since the game over-levels you until you reach CP level to compensate for the difficulty and assumes once you reach that point you're familiar enough with the game mechanics and opportunities that you'll have a crafted or dropped set comparable to your level and two bars with abilities that you'll use.

No I actually just wanted feedback and advice, no agenda here.

What you are saying, is if I went with a Level 49 template, I would have an easier time of it since that would be boosted?

    My apologies.

I believe it's around level 35 you're at your most boosted, but yes at level 49 you'd probably have slightly more luck although not by much.

How do you have less than 9k health? Are you sure you assigned your attribute points and champion points?

My characters don't have less than 12k health without food.

And you really want food. Health/Magicka in your case. You can buy it from guild traders pretty cheaply if you don't want to get into provisioning.

Having a higher resource pool and health pool will help with survivability and damage.

    You are correct. I'm shocked.

The difference is like night and day. I still don't have any food running, and I just picked basically the same build.

But the character is so much more effective at level 49!

This is a crazy scaling system, but I guess on the way to CP300 One would collect superior equipment to make things doable.

I still think it leaves the upper echelons of the game reserved for more dedicated players, though. Casuals who suddenly find themselves faced with battle scaling (me lol) will be surprised!

The content isn't difficult, it's understanding the mechanics that can be difficult for new players. Things like magicka and spell damage or stamina and weapon damage, damage types, buffs and debuffs, how attributes affect your character's strengths, augmenting attributes with food, how your skills work and chaining them together, which morphs are better for your chosen style of play, etc.and putting it all together.

I was on a new character the other day and came across a sorc using hurricane and a flame staff. He's in for a rude awakening, but part of the fun of these RPGs is learning it all through trial and error.

Are they harder if you're over 160cp? I'm at 100cp and it seems very easy. I did grind some Dolmen and world bosses for a bit to get a nice set of gear, but otherwise it's just been easy going.

However, my partner is like level 15 with sort of rubbish gear and is having a much harder time now with overland mobs.
Looking for a mature and helpful social guild - play PvE, PvP, and like crafting.

It's because you didn't assign your champion points on the CP300 template. Without assigning them you effectively made yourself under-leveled for all of the content. Lower levels get additional stats to compensate for not having the CPs. Don't forget: CPs don't just give you the benefits of each individual star that you put them in, they also add to your stats. The only way it's possible to have health as low as 8K (which is what your CP300 character had) is to be CP160+ without having any CPs assigned. The lowest health you should ever have without food is probably about 11-12K.

Did the OP travel back in time to when the Vet Zones were really difficult?

Man, I remember those days... The first time I entered a Vet Zone and had my butt handed too me. It was a challenge to adapt to the severe increase in difficulty. It was pretty fun.

Um ... you don't use potions?

This boggles my mind. I could see not wanting to dump thousands of gold into CP150 potions but, none at all? Not even the dropped ones?

Pro Tip: Potions and Food are useful.

Fun fact: I do use potions, but almost never outside of endgame content. At least, almost never on purpose. I use more potions by accident than on purpose :'(

This was the reason. Not assigning those CP points.

    Which I think..is crazy.

I pumped them into Magic Damage, and them Magicka Recovery and Health recovery. With the 100 points you can boost certain attributes by as much as 25% which is huge.

I ran with my Templar and the content that I was just struggling on I handily defeated several mobs, including groups. But, I am still a bit surprised at the difference it made.

People *are* going to have problems with this scaling system.

This is a joke right? The game hasn't been difficult since they nerfed the vet zones shortly after launch.
