It's an issue of your states and country's laws that make you ineligible. Most times it has to deal with large prize packages need to be bonded when they are over a certain amount.

That being said though, @ZOS_GinaBruno or @ZOS_JessicaFolsom I thought there were supposed to be more little contests that were available for more of us to enter. What happened with that?

If ZOS would really want, they would make it happen without any issues. Somehow plenty of other companies do contests all over Europe with prizes bigger than this. I've won a prize from Blizzard once, crazy gaming PC rig, trip for two to France, accommodation in amazing hotel for a week and other cool stuff. Why ZOS can't do it? They just couldn't care less. It's just a poor excuse. I guess there is a second-class community.

So they are restricting people entering this competition on the grounds of gambling.

I wonder how they are going to side step the gamble crown crates, offering gambling for a virtual item with real money ))

it's hard for me to believe that the majority of players in EU servers are from NA. and they are blocking european an australian players from all contests. the laws are a bad excuse, like @Waseem said: "they could make the 1000 crowns prize available worldwide with 0 problems".

Of course it's not. However, Zenimax in their due diligence must follow the lottery laws in all areas where the game is played. If there are restrictions or bans, they need to follow them. I was mentioning it, because last time there was a contest people were fussing and pointing fingers at ZOS. If it is not offered in your area it has nothing to do with them. They are simply following whatever rules exist.

As you are apparently an expert, please post the precise details of a contest ZOS can run that will abide by the laws of every single country/province/state where ESO players reside. Remember to cite references to all relevant laws and regulations which apply to each individual region, whether the laws/regulations are international, national or regional, in order to show that your contest adheres to all of them - even the ones that directly contradict each other.

You can only charge up to €0.45 in communication fees per participation to enter.
The purchase of the game and any associated fees would exceed that.

    In addition,
Promoters pay 40.85% tax on the the economic value of the prize.
Prize winner pays 29% tax on the economic value of the prize.

Is this really a law here in the Netherlands? I mean there are a lot of competitions here in which you actually pay more than 0,45€ to enter...

anyway. thanks for not letting lots of EU players join... I think it's more to do how many players there are.. so if its not a huge amount of players from the country thet dont actually care to take a look at the laws in those countries at all..

amazing how this xenophobic stupidity is always actual.

another event with prizes and most countries with people supporting this game are left out!

and once again due to a bunch of lies. very funny :\

so... now the laws from my country allows me to pay a lot of money to zenimax every years but doesn't allow zenimax to let me "Complete a random dungeon using the Dungeon Finder and earn bonus rewards: mounts, costumes, and more."

Responding to you is a complete waste of time but I'll do it anyway. ZOS selling a product and you buying that product are not illegal so they have done nothing wrong there. ZOS can't allow you to enter this contest because your country's laws prevent them from doing so. That is not ZOS's fault. As I said in my post, the portion of the event that rewards you for doing a daily random dungeon can still be done regardless of the country because it is an in-game event with no real world prize. The sweepstakes part where you can win the prizes that will be listed below is bound by whatever your country's laws are. ZOS is not deliberately excluding you from entering. They are simply obeying the law.
