    Well... I'm STILL downloading.

    1st) the patch
    2) 40GB of re-download the entire game for who knows what reason
    3) then download an extra 100MB file (after 1st having a patch manifest error)
    4) now downloading a further 7 GB file for who knows what reason (and holding thumbs that this insanity of downloading will end soon)

I have know idea what One Tamriel is like, but I have VERY strong and negative feelings about the *******g patch process.

I had no issues, but I have heard, that because of dailies the world bosses, the delves and public dungeons are really hard. While the world boss is usually full of players, I'm not so sure about delves.
And are suppose to be Craglorn Delves impossible to do with 2 people? The last boss in Hircine Haunt was hitting for 20k hps...

    My first impression was like

    giphy.gif

I can't wait to get home and play again.

Edit: The scaling is for me the best thing ever. I hate noob zones and now mobs at least stay stronk. I hate the idea a mudcrab from high level zones could defeat Doshia or Molag Balls himself.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I was downloading the whole night, only to see in the morning that it got stuck at 20% because of "Webget request failed" (AKA too many people downloading it in the same time),

oh I was so***** angry about Why to heck is there no auto-refresh in the patcher???

the dueling aspect is fun as hell.... prob dueled for a few hours yesterday lol.... the world bosses are quite a bit harder than they used to be which is nice... surprisingly im liking the changes.... granted my fps dropped substantially in cities esp wayrest .... was dueling while having 12 fps instead of the usual 60+ that i usually have in zones

I'm loving almost all of the changes, but something is happening graphically.

My game seems a lot more...grainy.

I'm running everything on Ultra and still getting 60+ FPS like before. I haven't changed any settings, either - in-game or in my NVidia control panel.

But everything still seems a bit more gritty than before, and I have no idea how to fix it.

    :/

i have the exact same problem. on top of that, my game often feels like it's on low fps, however fps meters still show decent numbers

Loving it. Will be glad when they get the EU Server selection a little smoother, but that is my only complaint so far.

Honestly, considering the size of this patch and the fact that it really, really changes the game I did not expect it to go as smoothly as it did. Very impressed with the Dev team.

I was expecting the state of the game to be in flux for the next month to iron out all the wrinkles, but maybe it will only take them a few weeks.

I do hope there are no rollbacks. If the do occur I understand, but they are the worst case scenarios in an MMO.

There are a few new bugs but I guess they will solve them with some patch, that's normal.

About the features, I don't like at all the level scaling, because now the game is more...flat. You can go anywhere or fight anyone and it's more or less the same.

I also don't like the factions mix. Now we can see enemies in our cities, which doesn't make sense to me.

Well to that part about "enemies", I bet that also in real wars the most of the people just were not into the war and would like it to stop (only the rulers and politicians and soldiers were really pro-war). So I bet many mer and men are just neutral.

So PVEers can be roleplayed as this. And PVPers...I am not sure  but best solution to this would be: Until they do not try to kill me, they are not my enemies, does not matter their faction :)

Haven't got a chance to play yet (and will probably wait until the novelty dies down a bit) so specific question: Can you still identify ppls alliance in PvE via their name tag? (Pls no)

Yes, you can tell their alliance by an indicator next to their name.

Which leads to some funny moments. I took my DC player to Auridon and as soon as I stepped off the wayshrine, four ADs sent me duel requests. It was fun - although we did take it up the road a bit away from the wayshrine.

I actually thought I'd set my dueling to auto-decline but still haven't done so. If I don't want to fight, I just decline and keep moving. There's no tension or anything, I just move on and they do too. I'm not saying there's not problems but I haven't seen them yet.

Levels now feel very soft. A 300-ish CP challenged me to duel last night while I was running a quest and I turned him down. He kept at me and so I decided to just get it over with. My character was 180 NB DPS and his was a sorc of some kind. I really thought he'd drop a couple of spells and I'd be dead, but what actually happened is he was dead in like six hits by me. I remember thinking, "Wow, is that it?" So levels aren't everything.

In four hours of gameplay, I was able to go anywhere and grab bunches of easy skyshards, but the game also felt "flat." People keep saying it's similar to the "Elder Scrolls" experience, but only if you compare it to Oblivion and possibly Skyrim (with the delves, etc., being the high leveled areas of Skyrim). It's nothing like Morrowind, of course.

So you scale, and the world scales around you, which feels unrealistic. The game is a tad harder (it's a little harder to kill mobs now) but I took a low level character (level 8) to the highest level zone in her faction and she did fine without me even activating any skills. None. Just light and heavy attacks and a lot of roll dodging. To be clear, she could die and fights with basic mobs took a bit (and she wasn't taking on trolls) but she killed a couple of dozen no problem.

Bosses are a lot harder. I think that's awesome but there was a lot of grumbling about it in zone. I love coming up a delve and seeing that huge health bar pop up.

But even though the difficulty has been raised, the game feels softer and easier than it did before. I can go where I want which means I can grab a few dozen skyshards easily. It makes exploration fun but doesn't necessarily encourage it: I can park in a zone and grind out an entire character.

There are more people of course but that just means more reason to ignore zone chat. If anything, the game feels less social than it did before.

Just some first impressions after four hours of gameplay.

Of course it will get nerfed, but due to the mob health buffs, I am seeing enemy mechanics that I haven't seen in 1.5+ years. I actually paid attention to the ground lightning in Arx yesterday. Stuff is still easy but it is nice to see bosses actually resist being killed.

Good: Dueling is really cool; I would love if we could have 2v2s, 3v3s, etc. as well. New achievements, which I love. Tower doors gone!

Bad: Cyro Grouping bug. I hate having to rediscover all of Craglorn. Too crowded. Troll repair gone.

Unknown: Still need to determine how balance was affected by 1T.

Final thoughts: The dueling makes it shiny, but I have a feeling that once that wears off I will find the update disappointing.

apart from the eu log in thing and the way prov writs have gone weird.....

if anything it looks even better - i play 4k. new quests from mages and fighters guild are fun. really hasn't been time enough to explore all the ramifications.

My experience last night was mostly enjoyable despite a few issues. Here are my highlights:

    - Tamriel feels more alive than ever! People everywhere!
    - Last point can hurt performance a bit. Wayrest was crazy last night! Filled with people but expected after a huge patch like this.
    - Duels everywhere!!!! Omg I didn't know this feature was going to be so popular. But can hurt performance in places like Wayrest.
    - I have mixed feelings about increased mob resist on vet dungeons. Takes a while to complete a run. Bad for many-alts players like myself!
    - Item sets everywhere!! Loot is meaningful and not only trash! Even though in dungeons people looking for pieces can slow down the pace of the run.
    - No mats found anywhere! This is a real issue ZOS has to fix!
    - Undaunted (old) bronze chest has too many sets.

I suspect there's a direct connection between those two points, there are probably plenty of mats but they're being harvested before you can spot them. Once things quieten down a bit things should return to normal.

As someone who primarily likes soloing and crafting, I've found the scaling to be a lot more difficult, especially if you don't have a beefed up character. I liked being able to finish off easier areas when I was higher sometimes, especially if it gave me too much trouble previously. That's gone, it's the same difficulty everywhere, and a bit more difficult than I find fun. Maybe I'll adjust and get better at it and it'll be more fun soon. My crafting buddies don't like the changes at all. It's going to be too hard to get lower leveled materials, even with the bundles given in writs. It won't be enough. So that's my Debbie Downer. I'm not rage quitting or anything, I still like the game.

    Elder Lag Online

This has been my experience as well.

Most of my spells seem to be invisible now. Enemy HP bars stay full even after death so I have no idea how much damage I've done to them. Frequent slow down and pauses in game play.... and this is just while I was attempting to farm up some ore. I don't even want to imagine what trying to PvP would be like.

This update has some great changes. Scaled content and world bosses who actually pose a challenge. I was looking forward to exploring a Tamriel that wasn't so easy. Unfortunately most of the challenge comes from dealing with this intolerable lag I'm having and after about an hour I think I've had enough.

Either this update was horribly programmed or it has significantly increased the hardware you need to play this game. Either way - unless things change this game is pretty much over for me. It is unplayable for me in it's current state. Which is a shame, cause I really did enjoy this game.

After the disaster with EU server selection.. logged in, ported to Cyrodiil, which still worked, so good patch. Don't care about any of the 1tam changes myself (well I do mind the lets-make-everything BoP and force people into PvE.. but as long as my current gear is ok, I'll tug along)

    so the good:
    - Cyrodiil still works
    - for pve'rs.. new stuff to grind (new carrots on a stick)

    the bad:
    - everything BoP
    - yet another CP bump, meaning yet more power creep in PvP and PvE... soon you'll look at a mob / person in a dirty way and he will disintegrate.
