A friend's account was apparently blocked yesterday, can you help?

A friend of mine just phoned me that he can't log in to the game anymore. I'm posting for him since he does not have a forum account.

This morning (we're in Germany, time zone GMT+2) he found an email dating from yesterday evening (Oct 5th 2016, 21:25 GMT+2) saying that his ESO+ subscription has been canceled. Needless to say he did not do this himself.

He then tried to log in to the account web site which was denied with "Your access has been blocked" (or an equivalent translation from the German message). He could still change his password, but the login remained blocked. He also cannot log in to the game anymore.

He's wondering if, and if yes why, his account might have been blocked/banned. He was not even playing all day yesterday, especially not when the "subscription canceled" mail arrived. Could this have been an issue with the patch and/or some overzealous anti-cheating measures or so? Maybe you could help us with this issue? That'd be greatly appreciated!

His account name is **********. He also submitted a support ticket, the "reference code" is 161006-00503. (In addition, he asked me to post on the forum, in an attempt to maybe expedite the matter, since he's very eager to try out One Tamriel! ;) )

Thanks a lot in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Kind regards,
Frank aka. Loc2262

After some further investigation it appears that my friend's account might have been hacked, or rather the email address associated with it. Therefore I replaced the account name in my post with "******".

Still we hope that customer service is going to be able to help in restoring access to the account and with any damage that the hackers might have done.

Again kind regards and thanks in advance,
    Frank

It's a ban. Only way to investigate what's happened and to figure out is this perma ban or temporarily one is to send ticket to support. WHat I can suggest is to name the ticket ,,Ban Appeal" . Also we cant discuss things like this here because disciplinary actions cannot be discussed on forum , so prepare that this thread can be closed.

Yes, my friend already opened a support ticket and will wait for customer support to reply to it.

I understand and agree that this can't and doesn't have to be discussed in public. I opened this thread at a time when we hadn't realized yet that his account or email was probably compromised, and we figured his account might have been banned erroneously (he mentioned to me that there have been instances in the past where that happened).
    Kind regards,

For security reasons we can not disclose information about someone else's account. However, if your friend believes that his account has been compromised you can advise them to follow the steps found here.
