Fantastic update! However, is it possible to disable blocking visual effects?

A few updates ago, when you block this spell icon appears. It kind of ruins the immersion as in Elder Scrolls games blocking with a shield or just blocking would look normal. Something like blocking doesn't need magical effects.

Now when you block you get this steamy effect coming out of you as well as the spell shieldy icon. Is it possible to turn this effect off under options? So like it can be on for default, but each player can disable the visual effect if they want too? I find it breaks immersion.

Thank you!

No, sadly it can't be turned off (along with other vfx). ZOS seems to think a fantasy game needs flashy vfx, when a lot of players neither want nor like them.

There's absolutely NOTHING "flashy" about any of the visual effects in this game.

You may not consider them flashy, but I consider glowing arms and feet as flashy. Less flashy than in some other MMORPGs? Sure, but still too flashy for my tastes.
