So what's the deal?
Trials
Mobs and bosses in Normal mode will drop blue-quality gear.
Mobs and bosses in Veteran mode will drop purple-quality gear.
The last boss on Veteran Hard Mode will drop gold-quality jewelry.
Hard Modes all contain an item worth 10,000 gold which can only be acquired once every 5 days.
From 2.6.3:
When completing a Trial on Veteran or Veteran Hard Mode, you will now receive a Purple-quality Weapon from an item set of that Trial, in addition to the one (for Veteran) or two (for Veteran Hard Mode) Gold jewelry pieces you'll receive.

but still, 2.6.0 and 2.6.3 somehow contradict each other.
2.6.0 states 1 purple for vet and 1 golden for vet harde mode

There are no contradictions. 2.6.0 is the base patch. Any additional patch notes apply changes or additions to the original notes. So the text from 2.6.3 replaces the text from 2.6.0.PC EU

There are no contradictions. 2.6.0 is the base patch. Any additional patch notes apply changes or additions to the original notes. So the text from 2.6.3 replaces the text from 2.6.0.
"now X in addition to Y" strongly implies that the change solely lies in X. Especially since this reverts the original change in 2.6.0, you'd think that's worth mentioning explicitly@bbu - AD/EU
