Rubedo leather - the ultimate achievement

I was knee deep in the stuff before I owned any DLC. I had 5K of the stuff and sold about 2K (10 stacks) on guild stores because I was running low on space on my bank character - I don't subscribe. All of that was from trash mobs and drops in dungeons

Geting Rubedo leather gears was a non issue... but i got it some time after it was released.

No problem with getting it from dungeons, anyone who is half competent can do that, but why just rubedo leather? Why not ancestor silk too? And rubedite ore? The reason for the original question was that it appears to be an oversight by the developers that rubedo leather is the only one of the high level crafting materials that can't be collected in the wild. There isn't any particular reason for it being that way.

Sure. Have you tried the trash mobs in Cyrodiil? One time I had a stack of empty grand soul gems and went to kill some wolves and durzogs in a delve to fill them and sell them (~40g a piece in guild stores). Had ~50 scraps of rubedo in 5 minutes and as many gems filled. It's weird because they are only CP140 ATM (will scale to CP160 in One Tamriel) but drop rubedo leather with the proper passives.
