The thing is 99% of what you say is true. And still PVP is 1 000 000 time more enjoyable than PVE.
I mean all of us here had to labour through your VMA threads...

If that's the case how about you pick up a chess board and play some old people in the park.
That's better PVP than this anyways, at least you don't need to buy a new CPU just to play the damn thing.
It doesn't really matter what kind of PC you have, ESO will perform terrribly. It's a terrible renderer that sports terrible physics and terrible controls.MalakithAlamahdi wrote: »Smasherx74 wrote: »So that we can play versus other players. You know, player versus player? Or you try playing on an actual computer and not a toaster. I like my bread crispy too, but I'm not gonna play eso on it.

That's what you get for using a terrible, decade old DX9 engine that you pretend is a DX11 engine because you changed a few parameters.

ESO uses a decade+ old renderer that has no clue about your modern hardware and really only cares about the speed of a single core CPU. It really performs terribly when taking into consideration the graphics that are presented.MalakithAlamahdi wrote: »Lava_Croft wrote: »It doesn't really matter what kind of PC you have, ESO will perform terrribly. It runs fine on my pc though, as well as my friends. The only time my fps gets low is when a big zerg comes in spamming spells.
I did notice it memory leaking after some patch, so after a couple of hours I need to restart the game.
My post was meant as a joke btw

So from the replies I have gotten thus far, the whole point of PVP is about an ego boost of sorts. All the while the actual point of it missing, and it being a means of in a sense boosting your self-esteem by killing other players. Even though there is in fact blatant balance flaws (that unsurprisingly no one mentioned), and the rewards behind it (loot-wise) being garbage. Got it. I understand.
Edit:What is the point of PvE?
I play PvP because it is fun to 1vX or do Smallscale grouping. At the end of the day, all PvP in any game is about your selfesteem, by beating other players. PvE does not give me near the same satisfaction.
The point of PVE are numerous. Lore, loot, challenges (whether it be time oriented or otherwise), mechanics comprehension testing in both application of said mechanics knowledge and learning said mechanics, storytelling enjoyment, immersion indulgence of the atmosphere/environment, etc. In fact, those are the reasons why I even bother with the Elder Scrolls franchise to begin with. >_>
Now before people go wondering why I put this in this section, rather than the PVP section — it's because I feel this to be a rather general question of sorts and topic. I'll explain.
PVP in any game is often as it's said. PVP. Player versus player. Now, in a game like ESO PVP is there as a means of alliance against alliance (or supposed to be). But in the end, AP farming is what truly matters. As well as emperorship trading. So what purpose does it serve in this game?
Dueling comes along with One Tamriel, and will cut down on Cyrodiil population (I'm assuming and guessing). And as is, PVP in its current state is a joke. You have: Broken skills, heavy unbalance, lag, bugs, exploits, macro-users, cheat engine users, etc. Throw all of that together, with the fact that you have load screens right and left and a vast majority of time spent on your mount and chasing your enemies to and from keep to keep.
So why do we do it? I'm sure some people find what I listed above as fun. Some people may PVP for the skills you unlock to utilize in PVE (e.g. Vigor, Magicka Detonation, Caltrops, etc.). But in the end, if PVP was removed... Would it even matter? What exactly is lost if you do lose in a PVP campaign? Nothing. Lol. What type of loot do you get? Subpar compared to PVE loot. What rewards are applied for killing your fellow enemy player? Some mail with junk. A tad bit of gold (200ish). A soul gem. And alliance points. Lol. Bruh.
What is the point? What is the point of PVP in ESO? There will forever be unbalance due to the core of the game itself. The classes themselves make things unbalanced. Throw in the blatant stamina overpowered magicka, and things get further out of whack. Unless if you're a Templar, and spam Radiant Destruction and constantly heal yourself when damn near dead to full health. I don't get it. Oh, and also let's talk about how battles in Cyrodiil are often won. And you know what that's about. Whoever has the biggest group wins. Whoever has the most populated alliance wins. So, how is it even remotely enjoyable?
And before someone says I'm whining, no. Lol. I just want to know the point behind PVP. Why is it even in ESO? For what reason?
