    PC-EU

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

I've just been kicked from a guild on PS4 EU that had a compulsory fee of 5k a week. My own fault. I'm only a sporadic seller and tend to sell cheapish (I'm selling more because I don't want something to go to waste than to make money) but still don't have buyers a lot of the time so I've missed most of the payments. I only really solo and craft, so there isn't much worthwhile to be sold and almost all my gold goes on gear atm.
To be fair, as soon as I joined and discovered there was a fee, I knew it was only a matter of time before I was kicked - I had the attitude of enjoy it while it lasts!

If there had been a compulsory 'X slots to be filled always' or raffle I probably would have made more of an effort but 5k seemed a bit steep.

Ironically, I'd just the day before got my Psijic recipe completed and had started selling those so was actually in a position where I was going to make an effort to pay up. Though part of me wonders if it was a coincidence or someone didn't like the competition...

I do think the game is more at fault than the guilds tho, there just isn't any way to be a casual trader that works for everyone involved.

It's a complete scam. One thing is to pay a certain amount to get access to the guild bank and stuff like that, but charging people to be in a guild is BS. The main trading guild I'm in, Royal Bank of Tamriel, only has an inactive policy and a rule of not being a *** to other guildies to stay in. We have almost 10 million in the bank, and we can usually maintain our trader in Elden Root.

If you can't pay 1-5k gold a week to support your hard-working Guild you shouldn't be in Trading Guilds at all. It cost 1-10 Million gold to get a Guild Trader in a decent location these days. Not only that, but the amount of time that Guild Masters and Officers spend on putting together Auctions and Raffles to be able to afford a trader just so your cheap ass can sell your items in a top location. You SHOULD pay a fee to use THEIR trader.

Ours asks for 10k a week. Good traders cost money and I respect and appreciate that. I've stuck in 70k plus some recipes etc this week so far (approx 50% of my wealth)

It's only "THEIR" Trader because of the people that not only donate but feel forced to donate. Oh, sorry, that word needs quotations in this example. "Donate". In fact, your statement just reeks of corrupt Capitalism. The higher ups are only as powerful as the lower caste they walk upon. You think the Trader belongs to just the Guild Master(s)? Alright fine, they can have it. See how long they keep it without the "donations" from the membership.

This is why I steer clear of Trade Guilds. They're supposed to be groups that help players Socialize and play together. Demanding a recurring fee in order to maintain inclusion only serves to alienate people. I don't get onto the game to immediately begin playing the market to make gold. Just recently I managed to reach 120k, which was the absolute most I've ever had at one time, and then I went and blew most of it on crafting materials, glyphs ect, cause the traders are so inflated it's ridiculous.

I saw traders selling a single ring of some set for 5 million. FOR JUST ONE RING.

Just because someone has something listed for that much, doesn't mean they will sell it. I saw 1 Perfect Roe for sale yesterday at some junk trader for 1 million gold. Dude just wasted that listing fee.

I am in 2 good trading guilds and on my worst nights basically selling nothing, I make 20 or 30k a day. 5k a week isnt an issue considering the one guild snags Atin in Wayrest 95% of the time.

You SHOULD pay a fee to use THEIR trader.

The whole point of "grouping" (be it guilds, unions, federations, whatever) is to put resources together to be stronger together. It's self-explanatory that people should contribute instead of simply "using".
That being said, I'd say "We should ALL pay a fee to use OUR common trader" instead of "you" and "their".

From my experience though, guilds with non-mandatory fees (i.e. Appeal for donations, but no obligations) do better in the long term than guilds with compulsory fees.

It's easier for a guild to maintain a trader in a better or higher traffic area if they have the funding to outbid other guilds. The current bidding system in ESO is broken because it is a blind bid. A guild doesn't exactly know how much gold to put down for the bids. Only those guilds been around longer and have been bidding for awhile have the experience to gauge somewhat how much gold should be bid to hopefully beat out all other bids and win the bid for that week. You don't really know how much you win a bid by or know how much gold you wasted to win that bid, though.

So, those guilds that do have more than 300 members and charge a weekly fee (most charge 5k gold weekly) have a higher chance to win the weekly bids because they are able to raise weekly funding for it. Yes, there are guilds that do not charge that weekly fee, but they do have to raise funding for the weekly bids. To do that, they rely on regular gold donations from generous members and funding raised from raffles. It can be a struggle for non-fee guilds, depends upon how many of its members actually donate or participate in those raffles.

Bottom line is, the larger the guild, the better chance to raise funding for the bids; either by the weekly fee and/or other fund raising ventures as raffle and donations. Majority of those fee-based guilds' members are willing to pay the weekly fee for those guilds that are able to regularly and consistently win the bid weekly, because they have the funding and able to put down a higher amount for the bids. It doesn't matter how much a guild gets back from the portion received from the members sales. It is actually not that much or enough to rely solely on proceeds received from sales. Yes, there are 30 slots for each members to have, but not all items placed are selling during the week its guild store is up with a trader.

It is also a struggle for newer or guilds with lower members (below 300) to win any good trader locations because they most likely not have high enough amount of gold to compete with those fee-based guilds who have a lot of gold. Plus, if you lose a bid, you don't know how much you have lost by or know how much more to gold to put down for the next week's bid. Also, you can only bid for one location only per week. If you lose the bid for that location, your guild is out of a trader spot, and you can't bid on any other location until the bidding is reopen for the following week. Broken!

If a trading guild charges you for membership, leave them.

Actually good trade guilds do not beggar their members.

So wrong, it's not even funny... Most guilds besides the guilds in Top Spots don't make enough through taxes.
Does this make em bad? I don't think so.

The prices for guild traders have risen and will continue to do so with OT.

1k a week per guild is nothing and keeps your guild competetive.

I pay 20k a month for one of my guilds, but I'm more than happy to do so because it's easily one of the best traders in the game (PS4 - NA), which means an insane amount of gold for the GM to bid for it every week. Plus I easily make that back in sales, so it's no biggie.
