I don't use pets. You must depend on your power surge to keep you healed up so make sure you drop Liquid Lightning and Wall of Elements for sure. I do use shield every once in awhile but for the most part I don't use them too much.
*Edit
I use Julianos (will be changing to Twice Born) and Destro/Restro staffs and I am still a Vampire. No need to drop it just feed if you want to be normal so no extra damage.

There are two main ways to go for a Sorcerer, Low Spell Cost and or High Regen for Sustain at the cost of ultimate Spell Damage, or Spell Damage at the expense of Sustain/Resource management. In other words, doing amazing DPS until you run out resources means your doing crappy DPS until your pools replenish. Playstyle can have a big impact on this.
But, for gear for both
5 Piece Seducer/3 Piece Magnus with Warlock or Syrbane Jewelry is a good sustain build
5 Piece Julianos/2 Piece Torugs/2 PIece Adroit (might only be CP140, but good enough)/2 Vicious Death Rings/Molag Kena Shoulder. Willpower is expensive and quite frankly, I get real close to what Willpower can do with the above combo. However this is an easily obtainable gear set up that won't cost you too much money. You can use Spell Cost Reduction enchants on the Jewelry if you want to help with Sustain. I find Cost reduction to be better than Regen buffing, but you might find the other way around to be better for you.
And, yes, I am not doing the meta of going Dual Wield to maximize spell damage, as I Weave in Destro Attacks for resource management more than anything else. So, that could bump DPS if you go DW, but that approach just bugs me to use a weapon that has nothing to do with my skills and attributes.
