How random is "random veteran dungeon" queue"?

So... I queue for a random veteran dungeon and get instantly in a group with 3 others who are already in Craddle of Shadows. One of them was cp 150, and I think the highest cp was 300 something.
This makes me wondering, how random are really the random veteran dungeon queue?

This was clearly a group who are first timer and doesnt have the gear or knowledge for it, and they prob are stuck at last boss, had a DD quit and they search for one in group tool.
That means, my "random" veteran dungeon wasnt that random, and also I get punished by not being able to play the dungeon from the start, and also comes in a weak group.

Wouldn't it be more logic to queue with others who actually used the random veteran dungeon queue, and start the dungeon from beginning?

In vet random I find 1/3 of the time it is a partially complete dungeon. 95% of the time the dungeon can be completed regardless of lower cp people within the group. It may not be a flawless speed run, but to me I find I have more fun helping people who are newer than 4 531cp stormproofs steam rolling and ignoring all mechanics. For vet pledges I typically try to join a group in a main city, normal well solo.
I actually don't mind getting in a partially complete random, if it's lower levels they are typically happy a 531 gave them the time of day and helped them enjoy the game too.

I agree, and I have done the same, and even have people on friend list asking me for tips time to time who I met in theese random "stuck" dungeons. And I help them with pleasure. Allthough this wasn't the essence of this post, tho I wanted a random veteran dungeon to actually be random, as well as starting the dungeon from start.

If I have the need of helping people who are stuck, I dont need a groop tool to find that

Sorry then, I think random in this game is just filler. Ie. If some ques for a specific dungeon and 3 que for random, the 3 are placed in the specific qued dungeon. I think you already knew that though, guess sadly best I can say is preform a group then choose random. Sorry

I did want to point out that you can only use the Group Finder to fill out a group in a partially completed dungeon if you used the group finder to get there in the first place.

If you didn't use the Finder, it resets the dungeon when it fills the group.

I don't mind starting dungeons that are already in progress when doing the random dungeon. It would be useful to have a check box to eliminate groups-in-progress, though. I am thinking specifically about undaunted runs.
