The pendulum swings fast in MMO's. Lol. Thats why instead of complaining learn to adapt or re roll.

    This.

I've been wondering why. I mean, did it really take just few stamina morphs of ultimates to fill the gap AND revert the balance?

Imho, being Evasion the must have fotm skill on stamina build's bars has played a big role.
I think that if only Battle Spirit affected it, we'd have a much more balanced CS.

    And maybe tone down Incap.

And burn every single piece of data regarding Velidreth set.

The real reason why stamina builds are overperforming is vigor. I have been playing a stamina nightblade for over a year since release, and while i could bring my damage very high and be a threat, my achilles heel has always been the healing. If i did not manage to kill my target fast, and allowed him to recover, he could wear me down.

Today, all a stam build has to do is animation cancel vigor cast with a roll dodge, cloak for a second, and when he becomes visible he's full health again. There's no such thing as wearing his health down - either you kill him in 2-3 GCDs or not at all.

Do you see the similarity to my first paragraph? Kill fast, or not at all was what i needed to kill a magicka build with my NB back then. Now the stamina builds are the same, except they kept the high damage, and even improved on it.

    For simple comparisons,

StamDK vs MagDK = Obvious choice is StamDK in PvP. MagDK is nerfed to ground. even in PvE, they only work good as tanks.

StamSorc vs MagSorc = Both has its uses but stamina builds is awesome than magicka ones in PvP..

MagNB vs StamNB = Stamina obviously nice in PvP. Magicka builds also awesome too. Both builds seem work nearly balanced.

And the Templar lol both builds work great. Jesusbeam is OP.. All you need is to Toppling Charge, Sweep, Jesusbeam OR Dark Flare for opener and spam whatever you want lol.

I wish I could have a pure stam character and be viable. Partly for RP, I like to get immersed in my ES games. I find it funny that we have millions of mages in this world, just walking around everywhere. Sorta ruins the immersion for me a little. Not as much as 6 foot 300 lb wood elves in pink i dream of genie outfits, but I digress. You get Fighters guild NPCs spitting on and cursing magicka, only to cast magic spells later the moment you have them in combat to help you.

It's like if Quintin Tarantino got Woody Allen to direct the Kill Bill prequel. It'd be entertaining sure, especially if you never witnessed the previous franchise entries, but overall you'd be disappointed and the same spots you were hoping to fill would be completely void.

A lot of us stuck with mag builds and are doing relatively fine. I know I still feel okay on my magblade...the problem comes when scrubs can play stam with a few gear sets and wreck people solely because of that set gear.

And it is a pain to try to play ranged with all of the gap closing lol.

This is very accurate. Long ago before all this I posted about set differences (finally) people are seeing it (because they decided to drop some more insane stam sets)

I decided not to stick with my mag sorc after over a year because I had no options. Not only that, no options in the foreseeable future.

With a stam build I can choose between not only so many armors with viable interesting effects, i get to choose between not only what weapon lines I get, but the weapons themselves. Maul, Axe, and Sword all have good PvP viable effects on 2h and DW. Frost and (now) Lightning get bonked.

I just have a better time with stamina
Yeah it's pretty sad...and will only be getting worse. I keep thinking I should switch to stam, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I find the playstyle so incredibly boring lol.

But it's true about the weapons. I'm bummed about the Lightning "fix"...just got a sharpened maelstrom lightning staff lol. Oh well, still works great in pvp.

Hi guys! Just doing my weekly check-up on the ESO forums.

Yeah this pretty much completely drove me away from ESO. The fact that the skill based combat we have now only applies to magicka based players while stamina based players can %100 to %0 you with just their gear procing off a light attack, while having spammable gap closers. I'm currently playing a lesser MMO called GW2. However in GW2 both ranged/melee mage based and warrior and rouge ranged/melee playstyles are on equal footing. So for the most part I'm stuck playing a lessor MMO till some one comes out with something like ESO but with the class balance of that of GW2.

Tried to continue to love ESO after the DB dlc, but ZOS fought me at every giving corner till they won the fight, with the 1st and 2nd week of the PTS testing Update 12. Many times lately I feel as if I should just uninstall this game completely. It seems ZOS is going just delete the choice of even going magicka by continuing to make stamina based playstyles more effortlessly easy, super powerful, while at the same time making magicka beyond difficult and super weak.

I call shenanigans, I have a wood elf NB that I made as absolutely big as I could and he's five foot nothing and a buck twenty five soaking wet.

Is there a way to ignore whole threads?

So much terrible information here it actually hurts my eyes.

Bad news for some of the posters in here, this will end up being a magica patch in fact inside of a moth I expect to see the stamina boys and girls taking to forums with widely inaccurate posts about the state if balance between the two playstyles.

Here is the thing people can't seem to comprehend. Most efficient way to kill does not equal only viable way to play. Stam build with cheese sets are absolutely the best and most efficient ways to rack up kills. That does no mean mag is not a viable option. It is exactly as you pointed out OP. You have to be able to play to your strengths and stop trying to play like a stam build. Mag builds of all classes are viable l. Some more so than others. Mag dk suffers the worst in solo play, but they are great in groups.

The problem is people look up videos of people saying do this it is the way to go. Sure for them. People like sypher and feng are looking for 1vx builds which means trying to get quick efficient kills. Stam does that the best. But sypher will also jump on mag builds and make people look silly. Even as a mag dk. Why, because he knows how to play them correctly rather than trying to do the same thing he does on stam toons.

Too many people follow the heard rather than trying to set out on their own paths.

How do I kill in my stam build:

    Cloak -> poison inject -> heavy attack -> snipe -> ambush -> SA -> incap -> executioner

    How do I kill in

I've been testing TESL these days, and I have to recognize that it feels more of a TES game than this one. And we are talking about a TCG. It has tons of options for doing whatever you want.

In this game, if you want to be competitive you are pigeoholed to a couple of builds that force you to have certain gear (min/max). And how does ZoS solve that? Giving you more gear (in the form of procs sets).

Gear does not solve the problems, instead, it gives moar problems.
