All of my siege is disposable. I don't usually waste the time picking it up anyway. As long as whoever takes it fires it in the right direction, I'm fine with it.
I just hate it when someone steals my coldfire when I'm trying to repair it....
Agreed. Dolmens take time and the drop rate isn't fantastic. How about this: If you're the one who can pick the siege up, you should be able to take it over/back with one click if someone else is on it.
- press a key (e) when some else is on your siege to ping them with a message "so an so wants to use their siege"
- press a key (x) to stow away siege without having to use it.
These two commands will only work on siege you control.
I'll hop on siege if it is clear that the original placer is either dead, fighting, or otherwise not in a position to use the siege effectively. This is typically also limited to one shot.
How to use other people's siege without pissing them off:
Observe currently unmanned siege
Check for friendly player approaching siege
If allied player is not approaching, get on siege and take one shot at something useful
GET THE *** OFF THE SIEGE
repeat from step 1 until target is destroyed
I'm cool with someone taking a shot, since I am not always in a position to use my siege and I'd rather it not just sit around wasting space... but I do want to come back to it. I did place it after all.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler Why not update siege so that anyone who stays on a siege weapon they don't deploy for more than 15 seconds that it automatically fires the weapon thus launching the player into a flying meatbag who then dies from fall damage. You could even create an achievement around this using the title of this thread....You have completed achievement "Get off my siege......flying meatbag!"....
Then you could also implement a lock out, so when someone has this achievement, it will not let them jump on any siege they do not deploy.
If something like this is ever put in game, I hope IT'S NOT IN THE PATCH NOTES..... let people find out from trying to steal others siege.... That would be epic.....
