As a solo quester, I like my questing to advance my character, and increase CP isn't enough... at least with a gear grind, I would be working towards something- right now questing is pretty much pointless IMO. Funny how most of the complaints are from min/maxers who don't want to have to re-min/max their gear... but most players coming from other MMOs see the benefit of always having something to work towards.
And this is EXACTLY the reason I'm no longer playing the game... because there is no way for me to advance my character. I'm running around in top level gear, there is nothing besides adding more CP, which with diminished returns doesn't benefit my character all that much. So until they increase the gear level, I won't be playing. That is why I liked other MMOs, because every few months they would increase gear level and so every few months you would have an avenue to advance your character... with ESO, that advancement has stopped. If ZOS ever increases the gear to CP180 from CP160, will there be a way of increasing our previously obtained gear to CP180? Because if history repeats itself, VDSA and VMA will only offer CP160 weapons as rewards — and honestly...? I love my weapons. I worked hard for them, and I'm worried that they'll mean nothing if crafted CP180 weapons will outclass them.
Not to mention, if ZOS does in fact allow these places to drop CP180 gear? It is going to be extremely disheartening to have to grind again for sharpened weapons.
You never have your "last" end game gear for an MMO. Ever. At some point it will increase to cp180, and beyond. Just like it once increased from vr10 to vr12, then vr14, then vr16. And we all had to craft, farm and upgrade our gear all over again, every time. And we'll do it again for cp increases, for the sake of progression.
The only problem is that that isn't really progression. It's artificial. It's just them forcing you to spend money on materials for the same gear you were wearing. That's boring. This game needs more traditional MMO progression.

Getting certain gear is annoying enough with RNG but they the price to upgrade it to gold, at least on ps4 eu where a alloy is 20k... is just crazy.

This attitude is... Smh.
Pretty much why games die.

Game will die if it stop progressing, i.e. combat level Freeze's etc..
Eventually it will happen if CP gear cap will not be increased.
Experienced players need reasons to further continue playing..

Pretty much why games die. Keep telling people to leave. That will really help.

@Bryanonymous
Really now. WoW has been around almost 12 years doing this very same thing And still have millions of sibscribers.
Swtor is going strong after almost 5 years since release and they raise level cap about every 13 months.
your oppinion, while I respect you having one, it doesn't hold water or anything else.

So a higher cap would have a different combination of perks?
